It is not. If worldly people acknowledge it, will it cause harm to you? That is not a valid means of knowledge. What else can others realize? Even for non-valid means of knowledge, it is done here. From what perspective will trust arise? Inference is not a valid means of knowledge, because the speaker's words themselves are not of a nature to indicate. If it is said that it will be so because of that, it is not accepted as a valid means of knowledge because it cannot indicate the unknown meaning. If it is not so, it can represent ability, and it is not the same as your "and". This is the chapter on inference in the concise meaning of the Commentary on Valid Cognition, the twenty-second chapter. Are there no other valid means of knowledge besides those arising from sound and direct perception? Why are the characteristics of only these two valid means of knowledge shown? It is said that other valid means of knowledge besides these two are not reasonable, because they do not possess the characteristics of valid means of knowledge, or even if they do, they belong to these two. Others, those arising from sound, understand the meaning through knowledge, arising from sound. That is also not created by the author, or it is said to be trustworthy language. This is not direct perception because it has a hidden object. It is also not reasonable to be inference, because it does not possess the characteristics of inference. A subject possessing a specific characteristic of a dharma, that is very certain to be a subject. As long as it has not become an object, it is not inference until then. For this, what is the cognition as a subject? If that itself is the object to be inferred, because that itself is not certain, its dharma will not be certain. If the pervasive nature of the property is determined beforehand, then after that, what are the knowables such as pervasive properties? Through what will it become inference? It is the definite understanding of the object to be measured. There is no concomitance in sound. Through the existent, one can understand the concomitance of all. Wherever there is smoke, there is no fire, it is clear that there is no concomitance. Similarly, wherever there is sound, it is not certain that it exists there, just like there is no fire in that place, and there is none at that time, know that. If it is said that it exists because it is constant and pervasive, all sounds are the same there. Therefore, because it is universally visible, negation will not be established either, because all sounds, all meanings will be examined. Therefore, for those arising from sound, because there is no such object, it does not possess the three aspects, it is not inference, it is direct

Like a mother. With words like burning offerings in the fire, From which arises unwavering wisdom, That too is a valid means of cognition, This cannot be reversed. That is not done by an author, Nor are there words and meanings, Therefore it is shown to be impossible. One characteristic arising from sound, With the nature of able and unable, Because it always follows, That consciousness always arises, Or it will never arise. Thus the cause of falsehood, Faults such as hatred and delusion, Likewise the cause of truth, Wisdom, compassion, etc., should be known. When there is no basis for that, Those too cannot exist, Therefore it will become meaningless, Or in sound, a person obtains a basis, Understanding the meaning or not, This is the work of teaching. Wanting to directly see the meaning, Is a person's own wish, Able to clearly reveal the true meaning, If it is said to be inherently present, Having different natures, Even if it is not understood by symbols, Meaning can be understood from that. The lamp that is inherently clear, Does not depend on symbols. When the symbol itself changes, The meaning also changes, but not because of the sound. Even if there is a symbol, the lamp, Will not reveal scents, etc. What should be distinguished is, That with its ability, able and unable, From which the unwavering, nothing changes. That is also similar to those with symbols, There is no difference from a person's words. Understanding the reason with wisdom, Also cannot understand those differences. Uttering knowledge is reason. Not moving from the path, this is not understood. Because one does not want to believe, Therefore the second arising from sound, If one wants to be unbearable, that is it. There is no such certainty. From whose words one is not deceived, Having seen many times, Trusting his words, If it is said to be accepted for secret understanding, Not deceiving in the past, One does not trust at that time either. Not deceiving only at one time, It is not certain at all times. From words and later things, What connection is there? From whoever understands that, This will become a valid means of cognition. Because of holding different faculties, etc., Because of confusion, it is not a single nature, Arising or not arising from that, not confusing, Others do not exist. Without remaining
