What does omniscience rely on? To accomplish that, the accomplishment is spoken. It is beautiful to those who measure the victors. The second chapter, Examination of the Lord, from the Treatise on the Compendium of Reality. Thus, the self-existent lords, Because they separately prevent being the cause, This combination of the two, Is not the maker of beings. That which is considered as the joint action of these, Is it for the sake of producing distinctions? Or is it for the sake of accomplishing one meaning? The first consideration is not reasonable, Because they are without change. The second is also not, Because the fruits would become simultaneous faults. If the essence of the chief is, Abiding in three ways, Then this lord, when combined with dust, Is the cause of bringing forth. When courage enters with great force, When it serves as a basis, Then it becomes the very cause of the existence of all the worlds. When the power of darkness, Is joined with great force, Then this is said to be the one who frightens all beings. Thus, dust and courage, etc., These things act together with this, They only occur in sequence, Therefore, the fruits are without sequence. Here, these things that are spoken of, Are they possible or one when acting as one? Is there the power of accomplishment or not? If there is, then when bringing forth, it is another, The second also becomes existent. Likewise, if there is another, The second becomes the fault of being another. Because its essence is not the maker of another by another, What distinction is there between this nature of this and that? If it is devoid of that power, Then at another time it will not become the generator of that, Because it is empty of power, Like a flower in the sky. If the essence of great power is also, Only the cause of that, Because the essence of the cause is constant, It will always exist at all times. Others do not desire others, Therefore, it is not from others either. Because it sometimes occurs and sometimes does not, It is also independent. If it arises from itself, it is not the cause, Because acting on oneself is contradictory. Things are sometimes possible and sometimes not, depending on circumstances. Thus, one does not want one's own nature to engage in self-action. Even after one's own nature has been established, Abiding

Therefore, it is established in this occasion. My own self is not established, and it is not contradictory for something to act on certain things, because it is devoid of all abilities, like a lotus in the sky, etc. This is the third chapter of examining the two in the exposition that summarizes its very nature. Those who assert nature say that the arising of these things does not depend on all causes, and they themselves do not consider it a cause. What creates the stamens of lotuses, etc.? What conjures up the variety of peacock feathers, etc.? For example, the sharpness of thorns, etc., is inherently without cause, because it sometimes arises, and similarly, suffering, etc., is also without cause. The stamens of sea-born lotuses, etc., which have following and returning, which have differences in state, which have seeds, mud, and water, etc. If the cause is definitely the manifest and the invisible, then when is the continuation of these, one asks what else there is. How do things have the certainty of place and time? If this is not the cause of that, when they all arise together, in some place at some time, having abandoned others, they will necessarily arise, those depend on it. Depending on it, it arises that way, dependence is called the result. Manifestly, it also arises that way, therefore, for this, the cause is established. Or add "for that." Therefore, the assertor of nature will be completely harmed by the manifest. Because the nature of the cause is certain by the manifest and the invisible. In order to establish that there is a cause, even if there is no special intention, but even so, because it is infinite, it is not certain to be meaningless. Because the meaning exists, the measure is not pervasive and not a cause. Because existence is different, because of delusion, because it arises from that. Whatever thing is not in that form, from itself and the opposite, in determining the opposite of the other, because it does not understand that there is no connection. Doubt that is not seen by everyone, delusion that is not seen by oneself, piercing objects, caves, tombs, etc., exist even when not seen. If one does not apply reason in order to establish causelessness, it cannot be established without measure, therefore, the subject is not established.
