Where is it good to combine? Because it has already been extensively prohibited above. For the unseen, what the non-Buddhists say does not possess characteristics. In the treatise that summarizes that very nature, the sixteenth chapter examines the meaning of words of quality. It is impossible for things to arise from striking, etc., in a single instant. Attachment to the place of arising, there is no other attainment than that. The action of arising is at another time, and the non-Buddhists say they know the time of action. Things that want to be destroyed very quickly, such as lamps and other things, are also like that. From the places behind and in front, the arising of separation and combination, whether it is a traveler or any other thing, from the basis of action, after careful observation, no matter where or when, even for a moment, it is not staying, but is of a changing nature. Even a tiny particle cannot move to another place. All permanent things, even in the middle of walking, etc., are extremely difficult to establish, and in all cases, there is no difference in this. If the walker and other things are things, then constant walking, etc., will change, and even for a moment it will not move and will not stay in one place. In a place where there is no walking, etc., if it is constantly attained through this, because it does not abandon the previous nature, it is like the time when walking, etc., begins. Or, things that do not walk, etc., are things, then they will never walk, and even for a moment they will not move and will not change. Because if it is walking, etc., it is also of an immovable nature, because it does not abandon the previous nature, it is like the time of the immovable nature. If walking and not walking exist at the same time, it will also become other, having mutually contradictory natures, and mixing will become different. These are extremely different natures, which are certain, because contradictory dharmas are mixed, just like moving and immovable objects. The action that wants to appear as visible is not other than the thing, this is not visible, and there is no following of reason. Instability and stability, and such walking, etc., do not exist. From the places of attainment and difference, it is not the kind of action and combination. There is continuous arising, and for similar and different things, when approaching attainment in other places, it is mistaken for walking.

It is not. In the well-spoken summary of Thatness, the seventeenth chapter examines the meaning of action words. The prevention of substances and so on: Kinds and so on are also clear, All those word meanings, Are always considered to reside in three. Among them, this kind has two types, Which the other schools have promised, Because they all follow, it is said to exist, The general nature and the specific existence, The general nature of substances and so on, Because they follow in their own places, They become the cause of mind, things and so on. All kinds are not the same, And the distinction of one's own place, The cause of the mind that goes against it, Those things are just as they are. The nature of distinction is some, The causes of the opposite nature, Whatever abides in the permanent substance, It is said to be a distinction. By whose power from atoms and so on, And from others, the mind of the yogi arises, This and its characteristics, Reside separately because they are not the same. Existence, cow-ness, etc. are kinds, They are also well established by direct perception, Because there is a function of the senses, Therefore, knowledge of existence and so on arises. Also by the power of inference, It should be known that these exist, What is the difference of knowledge, Which is caused by other reasons. On things such as cows and elephants, The words and knowledge of elephants and so on are different, Symbols, shapes, and circles, etc., Are the reasons for the different meanings. On the nature of the object such as a cow, Because there is a word and mind for it, Because it is different from others, like that, There are also the mind and words with hooks and calves. Rabbit horns and so on are transformed by consciousness, Because the distinction is a transformation, The words of its nature, etc., Are seen as uncommon dharmas. The knowledge that follows cows and so on, Is born from outside the circle, Because it has distinctions, it is like the knowledge of blue, and so on. Cow-ness is from the cow, Because the meaning is different and the object of mind is different, Likewise, like color and touch, It is like saying a black horse. All of them have no essence, They are just those who establish sects, From this, the means of knowing, Not even a little has been seen. The knowledge of existence and so on that arises after the existence of the function of the senses, Cannot be established, because they, Are of the nature of extensive following.
