It is finished. Only from that which arises, it is determined by the knowledge of mixing. Therefore, that is its valid cognition, because it is determined from itself. It does not depend on the subsequent knowledge that obtains the function. The knowledge that manifests the result has determined the nature of valid cognition. By this cause, the initial knowledge is also determined as valid cognition. The initial objectless realm possesses the characteristic of not deceiving things. The second will not enter, because its cause is impossible. Even if the collection of Ashoka flowers (Sanskrit, Ashoka, Romanized Sanskrit, Ashoka, sorrowless flower) has been determined as the nature of fire, with the appearance of burning and boiling, knowledge will never arise. If it arises, being of the same kind as fire, it will not turn into ashes, because fire is merely the cause of the function of boiling and burning, possessing only the characteristic of cause. Therefore, as long as the knowledge that manifests the function does not arise, then, due to the cause of delusion, doubt arises that the initial one is not valid cognition. Later, not seeing the result, and seeing similarity, and the unclearness of the mind, etc., these are the causes of delusion here. The knowledge that manifests the result, if it has arisen, then it does not exist, because it is directly connected with things, separately knowing the result. Because it understands the non-erroneous object, it will understand it as different. Even if one has not experienced its result, one will enter into the habituated one of the initial knowledge. Even if there is no different entry, through the understanding of doubt about different kinds, if the knowledge that manifests the result does not exist, it will not be determined as valid cognition. Even if there is the nature of valid cognition, it cannot be determined. Later, through some functional knowledge, it will be understood. Therefore, the initial knowledge depends on that which does not deceive. Not deceiving is also not deceiving, one should not seek it in that way, because there is no cause of delusion. From itself, that is valid cognition. For the initial true valid cognition from itself, because there is the possibility of hatred and delusion, for that consciousness, has it not been determined as valid cognition? Because the desired meaning has not been understood, how does one enter into the conceptual one from there? It is answered that the one with concepts enters from doubt. Even so, for that, the nature of having concepts will not be lost. Whatever doubts arise about valid cognition, even if one enters with doubt, that is also the means of determining valid cognition.

Certainty in that place, if one enters with doubt, if I were to attain the meaning, then that consciousness would surely be determined as valid cognition. Otherwise, it is not so; even like this, this is not a debate with reason. Why engage in means? Because there is no certainty elsewhere. If there are no means, then someone will not understand what arises from means. Thus, even if one enters with doubt, it is not without conceptualization. Does the consciousness that appears to perform a function also occur in dreams? That is not valid cognition; why is that initial cause not valid cognition? That is not it; all states with delusion are the cause of external objects. The non-deception of external objects is not present in those states. The nature of one's own kind, mind, and mental factors have dissimilar characteristics. By this, the difference between the two states becomes clearly understood. If validity is determined by this a hundred times from another source, then it becomes the fallacy of being the object to be measured. Is that not without contradiction? That is spoken of as valid cognition in relation to the object to be apprehended. Because it is understood from another, it is established as the nature of the object to be measured. It is like that due to the distinction of dependence, such as cause and effect, etc. The establishment of validity and the nature of the object to be measured is not contradictory. Thus, from the consciousness that performs a function, since it is determined as valid cognition, it is established as non-infinite, in order to refute desire for others. Also, when generating consciousness, as long as the purity of the cause is not understood by another valid cognition, then the meaning is not definitely grasped. Here too, the intelligent one speaks: by what is it non-infinite? From the consciousness that is independent and non-deceptive, that purity can be understood. By seeing the non-deceptive result, if the object is determined to be nearby, then the purity of the causes can be understood without effort. Even on the object of an eon, the intelligence that arises there is valid cognition. Because it is generated by that, for example, like those who dwell nearby and have an object of activity. How, when in front of a conch shell, after obtaining the function of establishing whiteness, one understands that it is not the consciousness arising from the sense power affected by yellow eyes. If the purity of the cause is understood there, at that time, the thought of yellowness arises towards the conch shell made of gold.
