If someone asks, isn't there more? Therefore, it is said "external object" etc. For this, there is no fault of not having the object-condition, because although there is no external object, there is only the appearance of something like an external object inside. That will become the object-condition. For example, for someone with cataracts, the mind with the appearance of hair and meat threads, like the appearance of hair etc. Here it says that the apprehending aspect is suitable to be the nature of the object, therefore it is said to be the object-condition. Also, how can this be the nature of the object? Therefore, it is said "because of the nature of consciousness" etc. Because consciousness, due to the power of the complete ripening of the habits of blue and yellow etc., arises with the appearance of blue and yellow etc., therefore, because it has the appearance of blue etc., it is established as having its appearance. Also, because the appearance of blue etc. is the condition of that consciousness, therefore it is also established as the cause. Its condition is its condition, this word "it" is connected with consciousness. Its nature is its condition. Because it is its condition, therefore, this third one should observe the reason. The commentator, in order to conclude the method of explaining the meaning of the sutra, said "the inner consciousness appears as meaning" etc. Because consciousness has its appearance with the appearance of the meaning existing inside, and if the appearance of the meaning exists, it will arise, therefore, because it has two natures, it should be the inner object. Here it says that consciousness appears like the appearance depicted by the appearance of the meaning existing inside. Therefore, it has its appearance, for example, like having its appearance with the appearance depicted by a drawing. Because if the apprehending aspect exists, it will arise, therefore, it can also be said that consciousness arises from it. Therefore, because it has two object aspects, this should be the object. The above is what is said. Here, in order to show the opportunity for the statements of other schools, for the time being, it is like this.

The nature of appearance, such as saying "Nirakara," etc., what is said is that the nature of the knowable appearing within consciousness exists and depends on it. If it is said that it is the image of the knowable, arising like a definite picture, then how does it become a part of it, and what is the image of the knowable that arises simultaneously, how does it become the cause of that consciousness? If so, it becomes an admission that oneself acts on oneself, and it goes too far. The grasping aspect would also cause the grasped aspect to arise, and the left and right horns of a cow would also push each other, wouldn't that be too far? This is the former view. To this, the author of the treatise replies: Not even a part is confused, therefore it is a cause. Thus it is said. To explain it in detail, it is said, "Even if it arises simultaneously," etc. This does not become a fault here, because even if the grasped aspect arises simultaneously, it becomes another cause, such as the immediately preceding and the object-supportive condition of the consciousness arising from the master, which is the same as the cause. Thus, without that grasped aspect, that consciousness would not arise, it is only something to be observed as a way of relying on a stick, not doing the work of a whole cause, nor fabricating each cause. If it is asked again, what if that consciousness does not want to benefit from that grasped aspect? Even without it, it will not fail to arise, thus, not helping each other does not require dependence, and even if not helping each other does not exist, it will not fail to arise. If in this way, the grasped aspect will also ultimately become a cause, what contradiction is there? The left and right horns of a cow are confused, so there is no entity of cause and effect. Acting on oneself is also allowed in some cases, such as a lamp. It shines from itself and illuminates itself. Through the difference of parts, it is also possible for oneself to act on oneself, and there is a reason for not confusing the entity of cause and effect. Where does this come from? Like this, the proponents said "of existence and non-existence," etc., like this, the proponents
