If it is said to be for its own nature, if it is said to be due to non-existence, that is unreasonable. Just like non-existent rabbit horns and so on can also be said. If it is said to be for its own nature, then this has already been answered. Here, the word "etc." in "depending on the power of the eye" etc. should be understood as manifestation, therefore it is said about the eye etc. Then, from where does this power arise? It is said that "these two are also mutually causal", this power also arises from the previous consciousness that triggers the senses, and this consciousness also arises from the previous power, this power also arises from the consciousness that triggers the senses, therefore, this succession of cause and effect is beginningless. Thus, for the time being, the power of the senses and consciousness are shown as cause and effect. Just by the phrase "these two are also mutually causal and beginningless", it shows that the power of the object and consciousness are mutually causal in nature and beginningless. In order to show the mutually causal nature, it is said "sometimes from the complete ripening of power" etc., sometimes from the complete ripening of the power of habit, it becomes the aspect of the object of consciousness, and sometimes power arises from the mind with the aspect of the object. For this, it should also be known that this succession of cause and effect is uninterrupted, so it is beginningless. Also, are these powers of the senses and objects different from consciousness? Or not? If it is said to be different, then in this case, it is only different in name, the meaning is the same, because it is admitted that there are senses and objects of focus other than consciousness. If it is said to be not different, then in this case, will this establishment that this power is the sense, this is the object not change? Therefore, it is said consciousness and those two etc., if one examines from the aspect of reality, then in this case, the powers are all temporary.

Because it is the nature of difference, it exists in conventional truth. As for consciousness, it cannot be said to be either different or non-different. Therefore, there will be no two faults as mentioned earlier. However, if we rely on worldly language, then sometimes it can be said at will that these consciousnesses are different, and sometimes they are said to be non-different. Just like this, things that exist in conventional truth are sometimes called by different names in the world, such as the scent of sandalwood and so on. Sometimes they are not distinguished, such as calling form and other things a vase. Therefore, in order to show that in both cases, the object of focus is internal, it is finally said "internal" and so on. In this way, in the manner described, the object of focus that is indistinguishable from consciousness has two natures, so it is reasonable to be the object. The comprehensive examination of the object of focus, through clear explanations, whatever good is obtained, may all beings attain Buddhahood. In order to make beginners happy, the Subduer God extensively explained, free from the ten faults. Therefore, I hope that the wise will be tolerant. If someone insists on picking faults, then this is not a comment as one pleases. Due to the influence of one's own conceptual thoughts, perhaps there is no fault, or it just appears in the mind. The extensive explanation of the examination of the object of focus is by the teacher Subduer God, who is proficient in all knowable objects of focus, is the Lion of Speech, who defeated the elephant driver of the heretical elephant. Thus, it is completed. The Indian Abbot Shakya Simha and the translator Bande Pel Tsek, who proofread, translated, revised, and finalized it. Explanation of the Examination of the Object of Focus, Subduer God.
