That is another meaning. Why only make two distinctions? The answer is: because there are no other distinctions. It should be considered that, like non-attachment, this is unreasonable. If it is like the first distinction, what is the fault? When another dharma exists in a substance that is both itself and not itself, its state will not become the characteristic of manifestation and non-manifestation of change and increase. Therefore, you should say what those are. Which state is not change and increase, for example, a substance with a state. Similarly, saying that it is another state and another dharma is a contradictory pervasive object, and it is not an unestablished reason, because which is not the possessor of another state, that is its state, for example, its own nature. Because it is not another other dharma, this is the reason of self-nature. Furthermore, which is the possessor of a state, is its substance its other dharma? Or are its state and substance other dharmas? This will not be established. Why? Because it itself will not become its dharma. It itself has become its other dharma, for example, what is made is not different from sound, but it also comes from it, if asked. The answer is: it itself is independent, because it depends on difference. This is shown in this way: here the sound itself is a transformation from what is made, etc. Because one wants to know only this, the nature of dharma is shown by the sound that abandons other differences, but this has no dependent difference. Therefore, how can it itself produce other dharmas? If the dharma of substance is on the side of other meanings, what fault is there in that? Or saying etc., why are change and increase not completely composed of substance? Because the change and increase that have become other meanings are not completely composed of other meanings. Why? Because it is not desired that even those with minds completely change. Because the chief and the person are united, they will not be called the agent.

O! Combination is, on whatever things, when the transformation into another meaning is completely produced, those understandings are its complete transformation. For example, just like from a conscious thing, the transformation and complete production of a sprout with the nature of trust, and like a sentient being. From the perspective of "things and dharmas are different," this is an observation of the contradiction of pervasiveness. Some things that are transformed into other meanings, even if they are not related, their transformation and complete production are not completely transformed by other things, but they come from things related to it. For example, just like the seeds of transformation and complete production associated with the sprout. If it is established by generality, then it is establishing on the basis of what has already been established. Because dharma and things are related. If it is a particularity, then the example is empty of what needs to be established. If it is said that because sprouts and conscious things do not have simultaneous association, then the term "dharma of things" cannot be established either. Why? Because there is no association. Therefore, saying "this is a dharma associated with another thing" does not exist. Then, from where would it be inferred to transformation? Therefore, if it is said that things and dharmas themselves are related through the characteristics of the dependent and the depended, therefore the reason for particularity is established, then, apart from being associated with the cause, there is no other material association, and the dependent and the depended material are also set as the particularity of the cause and effect material. From the treatise on valid cognition, it says: "When the basis is transformed into transformation, its nature is the cause and effect of that kind." Please understand that this has been determined in the chapter on things. If it is said that light etc. are the material of cause and effect, then things and dharmas are not the material of cause and effect either. Why? Because oneself is not its nature, therefore it is not its cause. Whatever is the nature of anything is not its cause, these are what you yourselves have already admitted. For example, just like dust and darkness. Therefore, things will not transform into the nature of dharma. Then, how can it be admitted that it is its cause? If you say so, please understand that this is not an inference of the non-manifestation of pervasiveness. The reason is not established.
