Therefore, one should not utter the sound that is about to become. Moreover, from anything, if there is no difference in self-nature, and it is impossible to accomplish things through the action of that thing. For example, just like recognizing the shape of the moon, etc., from its own kind. Similarly, for recognizing the shape of a pot, etc., since recognizing the shape of the moon, etc., has no difference in self-nature in action, it is called "the pervader is invisible." Similarly, it should also be applied to other things. For the argument of the previous position, the answer here is: saying "if it changes," etc., this indicates that that reason is not established. The meaning here is: there is no non-difference between shapes, etc., and the moon, etc., because they are completely determined by measure as mutually dependent self-nature. If it appears in this way, then one should remain neutral towards these desired things. If it is not so, then it is a question for the intolerable. The meaning is that for things without beginning, it is intolerable. Furthermore, saying that the pot and the moon, etc., are no different from shapes, etc., is a statement of expectation. Why? Because for shapes, etc., not relying on the substance of the collection, but by the power of their own cause, they have acknowledged the difference of self-nature. Therefore, it should be understood that it is not established through acknowledging this. The previous one is through the way of manifestation, this is the remaining part. Previously, others said out of jealousy: if something other than shapes, etc., became a pot, what would happen? They thought that there would be no fault. You do not want that, not for other reasons, but because of jealousy. However, just because of that, what needs to be said here? If the thing with limbs manifestly exists, then since it is acknowledged that it can be grasped by the senses of the eyes and body, therefore the self-nature that is not shapes, etc., means that the recognition of shapes, etc., itself has abandoned self-nature. Because it is acknowledged that qualities and substances are different. That difference is different from the self-nature of shapes, etc. If wisdom depends on the manifestation arising from the senses of the eyes and body, then why is it obscured? The meaning is that there is no obstruction.

Some people, even with unimpaired senses and great reverence, might think that substances like vases, which are distinct from blue, sweetness, odor, roughness, etc., are not discernible. The Vaibhashikas say: Even if form etc. are apprehended, there are cases where substance is not apprehended. When the appearance diminishes, form etc. are not discernible, but substance is discernible, because it is not certain whether it is the form of a cow or a horse. If one says that even then, only a rough outline is discernible, then the discernment is true, but it is not the essence of that. If it were the essence of form etc., then it would be wrong to grasp the distinctions of blue and yellow etc. Similarly, even if the form etc. of a person inside iron armor is not apprehended, one sees and knows that it is a person. Even if the white form etc. of a night heron is not apprehended, one sees and knows that it is a bird. Similarly, even if one does not apprehend the form etc. of a jewel crystal that follows different colors such as blue, one knows that it is crystal. Similarly, even if the essence of the color overwhelms the form etc. of coarse cloth, and the form of the coarse cloth is not apprehended, one sees and knows that it is coarse cloth. If someone says this, then all of this is self-conceit born from the habit of bad views accumulated over many eons. This is to clarify this point. For the time being, it is said that if the appearance diminishes and is not clear, or if there is an approximation of blue etc. at night, then one thinks that one does not apprehend its form etc., but one can discern the substance. To this, it should be said: In what way is the substance discerned? If one says that it is through appearance itself, but appearance is not discernible. When the appearance diminishes and is not clear, the blue form, that is, the approximate form, is also discernible. If that form is not its essence, then one will immediately fall into the error mentioned earlier. If there is no such discernment in a place near it, and the object is not understood even through other ways of thinking, then any form of consciousness will fall into the error of cutting off all things. Therefore, this is a mistaken consciousness. Mistake is
