In order to refute the doubt of "speaking rocks," suppose it is mentioned that "even in dreams, knowledge is meaningful," and so on. Even in dreams, knowledge is meaningful, and in the state of dreams, the beings that are the objects of perception are also truly existent, so how can they be compared? This is a prior doubt. The proponent of established tenets says, suppose that for the sake of benefiting others, one speaks words that are devoid of scripture and reason, and so on. Whatever is devoid of scripture and reason is devoid of scripture and reason. Because it is devoid of scripture and reason, this debater is not good, not a good debater. Suppose that the Vaibhashikas, for the sake of benefiting the Yogacharas, were to concede this, it would be unacceptable if this were to lead to my defeat. In that case, the Yogacharas would not be able to refute the idea that other sentient beings have such power. That is, they would say, "In your dream state, the power of those beings that you consider to be sentient beings will cause appearances to arise in my consciousness." Therefore, it is not similar, and the state of being devoid of reason and scripture should be viewed in this way: nowhere in the scriptures does it say that the forms dreamed of in dreams are existent. It is also not reasonable, because the forms dreamed of in dreams would become obstructive and visible. Therefore, it is also unreasonable for elephants and so on to enter windows and so on, and I would also see those who dwell in the same place. However, if it is not considered to be visible and obstructive, then it is not a form. Because it is not an appearance, it is also not definite, because they do not concede this. When one sees oneself appearing, it would also lead to having two continuums. When one sees other beings, it would also lead to the appearance of sentient beings that did not exist before. If one engages in impure conduct in a dream, it would also lead to defeat, because if one considers the forms dreamed of in dreams to be existent, it would lead to many such faults. So far, this is all.

In order to establish it equally, in order to completely abandon the fact that one's own sect is contrary to reason and scripture. "Only this view," etc., this is just nonsense, only the view of the Yogachara school, just like the state of not falling asleep, even in dreams there are actions and consciousness with the appearance of words, like that it is under the control of other continuums, there are such situations, the difference is only this point. The state of not falling asleep is directly controlled, and the state of dreaming is mostly indirect. In order to show that it is possible to enter directly even in dreams, it is said "Sometimes even in dreams," etc., this is easy to understand. In order to explain the reason for entering directly, it is said "Blessing of gods, etc.," etc., due to the blessing of gods, etc., there arose consciousness that appeared as the knowable consciousness of the merchant who was very happy. By saying "etc.," it includes the blessings of yogis and rakshasas, etc. In order to summarize one's own sect, it is said "Therefore, this," etc., therefore, the Yogachara school says this, this debate is not dependent on non-excellent ones. Again, in order to establish it equally in other aspects, ask the Sutra school, say "For the time being, the action itself," etc., because appearing as the knowable is the knower, so the idea is put aside for the time being, and for a while we will debate and observe you, why does the action itself that you observe know the minds of others? Arguing and observing in this way, the Sutra school said "Because it is the fruit of the mind," etc., because it is the fruit of the mind, it can know it. The proponent said "Being its fruit itself is," etc., if the action can know the mind because it is the fruit of the mind, the fruit of the mind itself is the same for the consciousness that appears as action, why can't the consciousness that appears as action know the minds of others? The proponent uses the method of summarizing the reason to make the other party...
