If it is said that because "place" is mentioned, it would also be unreasonable to not hold the Dharma arising from direct perception, as well as the objects of the past, etc. To this, if someone thinks that only the appearance of non-difference, etc., should be acknowledged, then, therefore, it is said, "Then, is this a valid cognition?" If the appearance of non-difference, etc., is acknowledged, then, because inference holds the self-nature of the object, it would become a valid cognition, but this statement is unreasonable. If it is thought that valid cognition itself does not have the cause of holding its own characteristic, then how would this be a valid cognition? Therefore, it is said, "Also, not holding its own nature," etc., meaning that although inference does not hold the general characteristic of the object, it is considered a valid cognition because it does not deceive the desired meaning. Some books say, "Therefore, this is not a valid cognition." There, it is explained in this way: when appearances, etc., are different, then it is not a valid cognition. It should be understood that inference holds its own nature, and therefore it is not considered a valid cognition. Why? Because it is said, "Also, not holding its own nature," etc., meaning that even if it does not hold its own nature, but because there is no deception of the desired meaning, therefore this is a valid cognition, but not because it holds its own characteristic. To this, if someone thinks that other inferences do not hold their own characteristics, but by inferring the minds of others, it can hold them, what is the matter, and how is it dispelled? Therefore, it is said, "Also, arising from signs such as smoke," etc., meaning that the inference arising from signs such as smoke is not considered to hold the self-nature of fire, etc. Why? Because it is said, "It would become indistinguishable from what is seen," meaning that if inference holds the general characteristic of the object, it would become the same as direct perception, and inference would also not become the object of the past, future, and the object of the absence of the self-nature of things. Just as it appears in direct perception, the conceptual thought of inference also appears, and it would also become capable of accomplishing things. To this,

Thinking thus. If one thinks that there is no non-deceptive in following the inference of others' minds, therefore, it is said that there is also "again" etc. in inferring others' minds. Because the reason for non-deception is shown by means, it is entered. Through that door, it is said "other sentient beings" etc. By the action of entering, through the door of inferring others' minds, it is realized that other sentient beings exist. If one repeatedly engages in terms, such as manifesting desire, exertion, and going to other places, then one can obtain speaking about things arising from the power of other sentient beings. Or, if one repeatedly engages in terms, such as manifesting desire, exertion, and going to other places, then it arises from speaking about things arising from the power of other sentient beings. Or, repeatedly engaging in terms means entering the house after speaking universally, then laying down a mat after that, then giving food and drink after that, then laying out bedding and cushions after that, giving water for washing feet, and massaging feet, etc. Furthermore, why is it considered a valid cognition for the sake of accomplishing later terms? Therefore, it is said, "Because the world only thinks of such a result, and also for the sake of entering into following the inference of other sentient beings," etc. It means that this result has so much, therefore this is so much. That, the word "that" refers to the function. So much, the word "so much" refers to the measure. Which world has the thought of so much result? It means that thinking of so much result is entering. Thus it is said that whoever in the world follows the inference of the existence of other sentient beings is thinking of obtaining the function arising from the power of other sentient beings. Also, the word "again" is for the purpose of determining that the result of the world's entry is only so much. Why is this? It is said, "Appearing in the difference of the later meaning of a person," etc. The difference of the later meaning means burning and cooking, etc. Whatever consciousness has such a nature of appearing, in that
