Because if, with regard to the same thing, it is thought that the difference in cognition here can establish the same identity, then it will become an inference without concomitance. Here, the pervasiveness of the result of a single relation of cognition is not established. Since its pervasiveness is not established, how can the cognition here become a difference in cognition? Since this is the case, how can it be the same identity? In the correct combination, there is no difference in cognition, for example, there are many cypress trees on this table, Lhasin (lha sbyin) is sitting on this bed, there are many flowers in this garden, there are many cows in this house, like this, through direct perception, the correct combination is established as non-different. Similarly, for different smokes that depend on different supports, there will be no difference in cognition such as "there is fire here." Unmade nature is also not established, because those things that have the cause of support are not the cause of aggregation, this is because there is no oath, because there is no cognition. Making a distinction without relying on valid cognition, things cannot be established. If destruction is established by the destruction of the support, then it is impossible for unmade nature to be established. Therefore, this reasoning of the Geshes (gzigs zan) is meaningless. It should not be refuted in too much detail, because that would become verbose. Therefore, it is unreasonable to think that there is a mind of relation. Therefore: That thing and others, all of them abide in their own nature, Therefore, their own nature is not mixed, those cognitions cause confusion. Relation does not truly exist in things or valid cognition. Even if it is admitted that the two are one thing, then the two that have a relation and their relation will also exist in their own nature. Therefore, all things have a nature that is not mixed. For the case where things exist in this way, cognition will cause confusion, that is, it is recognized as "this is this's." For this cognition of "this is this's," it also confuses the things themselves. If both only exist in their own nature, then there is nothing at all. If, because of recognizing "this is this's," it is thought that only one's own nature exists, and not "that's," that is, confusing things through "that."

It is so. Here, different relations are not apparent to some. If some are examined, then their objects are not relations, but the examiners exist. Those who say this are speaking without understanding the necessity of Dharmakirti. Objects are only clear when they are related to other objects, otherwise they will not become any other related mixture, as has been said in the understanding of correct combination. If one can understand the different relations from those with relations, then one becomes the one with relations, not the relation itself. If asked: Then on what does the relation exist? Answer: Precisely because of "the one with relations," the different relations have been eliminated, just like the understanding of a person holding a stick. If asked: No, because other valid cognitions establish the different one associated with it, so that understanding is the object associated with it. Answer: No, different relations are not understanding, but exist in the pervasive combination of states, and the relation itself is also the object of the act of understanding the object associated with it. Precisely because of this, Dharmakirti said in the Pramāṇavārttika that the relation itself is not what is expressed by its own word. Similarly, regarding the associated finger or the association of fingers, only the pervasive exclusion of others and the non-exclusion of others are stated. Precisely because of this, it will become the same meaning. Therefore, what is called relation does not exist after examination. If one still accepts it as other, then it will become what is said manifestly by others. There, for the establishment of the absence of understanding, etc., the effort will become difficult. This understanding is not done like understanding fish tails, etc. Therefore, it is reasonable to say that one should become a follower of the experience of fish tails. Those who follow it, in order to understand the meaning of different objects, should combine the words that state the action and the actor. After the mixed object made by understanding, the words that sustain life also follow the mixed object. Thus, here too, the actor pervaded by the action becomes the word that is the symbol of expression.
