That which is distinguished by earth is the meaning of what is called "relation." The combination of distinctions of existence and non-existence, how is this only cause and effect? The statement "The relation distinguished by existence and non-existence is considered only as cause and effect, but not all" is the former position. Here, those who assert established tenets say, if the combination distinguished by existence and non-existence is only cause and effect, then at that time, what is the existence and non-existence of the distinction of combination, why is it not cause and effect here? The statement "If the combination distinguished by existence and non-existence is acknowledged as cause and effect, then at that time, why are existence and non-existence themselves not acknowledged as only cause and effect? By what do you conceive of a relation that is non-existent and meaningless?" is, if existence and non-existence themselves are cause and effect, what fault is there? By what reason do you conceive of a relation that is non-existent and unnecessary? The distinction between these two called "different" is, thinking thus, existence is existence, and non-existence is non-existence, the statement "There are many things to be said about this" is, the two of existence and non-existence related to the cause, and also the two related to the effect. Expressing one meaning, in the realm expressed by the word "only cause and effect," that is unreasonable, because cause and effect is cause and effect. Its entity is only cause and effect, this is included by the condition of the entity. By the condition of the entity, it is said that there is a relation on it. Therefore, the word of only cause and effect expresses relation, and that is also one. Therefore, one meaning of only cause and effect, in the realm expressed by the word "only cause and effect," many meanings are unreasonable, if it is said that the cause and effect of existence and non-existence are not considered, then the statement "Therefore, existence and non-existence are not considered only as cause and effect" is the former position. Here, the proponent of established tenets says, is this sound not dependent on the speaker? Having said this, all sounds

Isn't it dependent on speech? Speech also doesn't combine as desired, but rather doesn't combine things as they are. Therefore, saying it depends on speech means that speech is erroneous. The saying "Whatever sound there is, it speaks as it combines" means that when sound depends on speech, this sound is the speaker using whatever method to combine the sound with whatever meaning, and the sound expresses that meaning in that way, not arbitrarily. Therefore, even if there are multiple meanings, one sound cannot be used to answer, because in that way, multiple meanings would also be expressed with one sound. Therefore, this cannot be taken as an answer. Therefore, saying "existence and non-existence themselves are the cause and effect" means that because it is so, existence and non-existence themselves are the cause and effect, and not other connections. Why? Because if you see only one like this, the explanation of this sentence is "appearing as the cause," meaning that appearing as one cause, that is the meaning of "appearing as the cause." The saying "The result of becoming a knowable characteristic is seeing the unseen" means that when you see what appears as the cause, you will see the characteristic of becoming knowable, the previously unseen thing that appears as the result. Seeing it, what is it that you see when you see it? It means that when you focus on what appears as the cause, you become focused. The saying "If you don't see it, you don't see what appears as the result" means that when you don't see what appears as the cause, you won't see what appears as the result. The saying "At that time, it is the result itself," the explanation of this sentence is "From this, this arises, that is realization," meaning that from the seed, this sprout arises, that is realization. The saying "Even if there is no teacher," the explanation of this sentence is "Below, there is no teaching 'from this, this arises,'" meaning that even if there is no teaching saying "from this seed, this sprout arises," even if there is no such repeated teaching, one still realizes that the sprout arises from the seed. This is what is being shown.
