Mentioning fire and so on refers to the combined action of pouring water, coldness, wind, and so on, such as gathering closely together. It is produced excellently by the distinction of the support, and depends on proximate grasping. Copper and so on, which have the nature of hardness and so on, change naturally. Therefore, the cause of proximate grasping and the condition of fire and so on acting together, especially produce proximate grasping. Other than that, it is merely another nature such as hardness and softness. Mentioning softness is merely an approximate representation. The previous copper and so on, which have the nature of hardness and softness and so on, the nature of complete abiding, becoming hardness and softness and so on, is produced, but not completely transformed. Others mention "that" here, just as the cause of destruction produces the nature of instability in what has become the nature of abiding. Therefore, who would say that it is destruction? Because anything changes from another to something else, it is said to be another nature. However, that self-abiding nature arises only from its own cause, and because it is an unstable nature, how can one know that it does not arise from the cause of destruction? If one thinks that one's own cause is such that it only produces the naturally abiding nature, then the cause of destruction, such as fire, is impossible, because it is abiding. When the naturally abiding nature arises from a cause, it is impossible, even if it is not abiding. Therefore, from the existence of the nature itself abiding, it is only from one's own cause that it is certain that this is another nature. For example, just as one experiences oneself being destroyed by fire and so on being contrary to others. Mentioning "other" is the fifth division of what is to be done, meaning to rely on others. One's own causes certainly produce this nature, for example, just as one transforms into the opposite by relying on your opposition. It is said thus: Its nature exists, relying on what does it change? For example, other oppositions, like the hail mentioned. Thus it is said. If destruction is when one is close to opposition, one transforms oneself.
