It is only from its cause that something similar to it will arise. Its entity does not depend on other causes. In order to eliminate this uncertainty, it was said that uncertainty is expressed in other ways. Wanting to completely eliminate it, he created "can be mutual conditions" and so on. In this regard, what reasoning demonstrates that moments have cause and effect, while it is impossible for non-moments? After the incidental statement is completed, the true statement is, therefore, "any self-nature" and so on are mentioned. If the nature of phenomena that does not inherently exist does not need a cause of destruction, then will the phenomena that inherently exist arise? If asked in this way, it is said, "For the nature of phenomena that exists as an entity also," etc. For the nature of phenomena that exists, there is no doubt whatsoever about the cause of destruction, so it arises truly from its own cause. The firm What is the nature, no one can make it produce other impermanent things. If the nature of things does not change, then it is only constant, and the self-nature will not completely abandon its own essence. Or, if it is thought that the constant dharma will also become other, then, if it becomes other, its essence will not become the self-nature of the constant dharma. The nature of the impermanent dharma is the nature of the reason that arises later from what did not exist before, then it should not arise occasionally. Its nature becomes non-nature, because the abiding of contradictory dharmas is a different characteristic, it has already been said. If that is the case, the nature of the previous distinction is the impermanent dharma, and the fault that the cause of destruction is meaningless for it has been exhausted in the previous observation, so it has already been said before. Or, if this only firm self-nature was previously a firm self-nature, then it is produced from the cause of destruction, otherwise it should not regress. If asked in this way, it is said, "From that," etc. The cause of destruction will make the abiding nature of phenomena become the characteristic of the nature of phenomena abiding in other entities, because that previously abiding phenomena arises truly from its own cause.

From the perspective of its own nature, the other is the very nature of otherness. Since it is both established and unestablished, and since the causes are different, how could it become its nature? If it appears as the self-nature of 'da'i', it appears as such because one does not distinguish between similarity and difference. When this transforms from the previous nature into something else, if it were not so, what would prevent it from contradicting valid cognition? If it is said to be the nature of the other, how can something that is the nature of the other be itself? The notion that the other is the nature of the other is unreasonable, as it would lead to extreme consequences. If something is the nature of the other, why would it not become that? It is stated, 'Things are different,' and so on. If there is no fault in a thing itself transforming into the nature of the other, then it is stated, 'If that is the case.' The transformation of a thing into something else is the nature of being born from the cause of destruction. The previous thing is born from its own cause. Abiding in the unchanging dharma does not depend on abiding and changing. Because the cause of destruction produces other things, it does not have the alteration of changing into something else in the abiding dharma. When other things arise from hammers and the like, it is unreasonable to think that the other changes, as it would lead to extreme consequences. It has already been said that it produces it from nearby. So, the nature of hardness and the like in copper and so on, which is seen to be produced by the cause of destruction as another nature such as melting, is it not the case that the former is not an unchanging dharma? It is stated, 'By this.' It is stated about the hardness and so on that was just mentioned. By mentioning 'etc.', softness and the like are included. Because fire and cold and the like cause copper and gold and the like to produce other natures such as softness and hardness, the nature of copper and the like that abides is eliminated and abandoned, because the fault is the same. If that is the case, then it is unreasonable for the former not to abide in the unchanging dharma, because it produces another nature. It is also stated about this that copper and the like, which have the nature of hardness and so on, the former nature of hardness and softness and the like is inherently destructible, so it is destroyed by being associated with the cause of destruction.
