Just because of the order of places like rice, it is said that there are two kinds of fruits, and the reason for distinguishing them in this way is for this reason. If asked: How are there two kinds of fruits? The answer is: Because of co-action, etc. Co-action, without interruption, etc., arises successively at the end of the place, possessing differences that mutually depend on the previous state. In this difference of the characteristic of an instant, the later and later have differences, and the nature of the instantaneous thing that produces the Dharma with differences. Whatever fruit possesses this nature is one kind; the other is the opposite of this. Whatever co-action arises merely from proximity does not depend on mutual action and difference mutual action. The example here is sprouts, etc. The word "etc." includes rice, etc. The way of the cause that produces without staying is like the consciousness of the senses. In order to exclude the senses that enter the darkness from the light, there are these differences. Where do these differences come from? Because the nature of cause and effect are different. Some fruits have the nature of arising merely from being close to the collection of causes, while others depend on its complete transformation. Some causes also have the nature of producing fruit merely by being close to themselves, which is produced only by their own cause. Some mutually act, relying on producing their own fruit through difference, while others have the opposite nature. For example, some have the nature of producing rice sprouts, while others are the opposite of this. The nature of producing rice sprouts is not the nature of producing barley sprouts. Things are produced by the power of their own cause, exceeding the nature established by valid cognition, and should not be examined. Whatever nature of production is established by valid cognition, is that the nature of all things? Or is it merely its own nature? If examined in this way, if it is that nature in all cases, then just like later, the previous would also produce that fruit, because it is not the agent with other nature, so the nature is different. Rice and barley...

The examination of the state of non-authorship, like a seed, is called contemplating reality as it is. It is recognized as one because of the reason for other derivations, just as hair and nails, etc., grow after being cut, so there is no contradiction here either. When the nature of cause and effect are different, the effect should be considered as two. For that, it should be so. Co-operators are fields and seeds, etc. Those that become the state of the ultimate cause, relying on the continuous mutual assistance, are the reasons for producing the results such as sprouts, etc., that is, the co-arising condition that produces together. The nature of the special entity of the second moment after the first moment arises from the first that is capable of producing the special result. The difference that distinguishes each other when those co-operators first meet is not a producer, because it arises from the difference of conditions that depend on mutual approach, etc. Therefore, from the perspective of generating results and conforming, the co-operators near the first moment and the difference that proves others are the same as the generation itself. The difference between them is not a guide, because they generate the characteristics of the entities of the subsequent moments. The difference created by the co-operation of its and their arising is generation. From what? Because that is its nature, so the difference of this first is the difference that proves and conforms through the difference of conditions of dependence such as mutual gathering, etc. The co-operators do not depend on mutual assistance, because it is the nature of generation. These differences are produced by co-operation, and are the difference of generating results and conforming, because it is the nature of generation. Because whatever is the case, it is not endless, which has been said before in many cases. However, co-operators, such as fields, seeds, etc., and those that exist in fertilizers, etc., are also the same for fields, etc.
