It has been said before that countless things are different in nature, and because of the negation of dharma and the possessor of dharma, it is impossible to have both. Because substance and category are the nature, they are known as the nature of two things. Those natures are one, and they are distinguished by different names, etc. For the cognition of the senses, the nature of things does not appear, and if it is not the scope of language, what is it? Therefore, names are different and different, but in the ultimate truth, they are one. Such statements are also spoken in the same way. The function of language is that because it does not appear in the wisdom of the senses, its sound, like what is seen, is the scope of cognition. If it is different because of that sign, and different because of the name, then some opposite differences are not completely blocked for things. Even if the numbers are different, there is no difference in words that others desire. Therefore, even if it is a distinction, it will become a different form, not by the things themselves of those words. Such statements are not directed at things themselves. Without destruction, there is no opposite, and the opposite is destruction. When the category of things is destroyed, if it is destroyed, why not consider it not self? If it is said that the category is the nature, the nature of things, then will it become the nature of other things? If not, then it will also be destroyed. How do things exist, and is what is produced later also its self? When contradictory dharmas exist, what category will become what? Because of distinguishing it, if it is considered a different nature, if the category is a different thing, it will become without difference, and there is no connection to this. If it is admitted that the nature of things and categories is one, then the fault of arising and not arising from one, and destruction and non-destruction will occur. Therefore, because the characteristics are different, they themselves will not become different. If the nature becomes different because the result is different, then the nature is not different, and if there is no difference, then in the same way, why would it not be called different just because the nature is different? Because the later result is different, it is not the cause of making it different, because the nature does not change. The cause of destruction is unreasonable. When one is not different, its thing is also the same. By what non-distinction do those differences of things become different?

If those are established as distinct, if one examines the meaning of distinctness, that also exists as the nature of the other. If one examines the nature of the other that is established without distinction, then it will become endless. The very nature of the infinite, arising from the ability to perform a function, who would acknowledge it as such for knowledge without appearance? If one definitely becomes one, without differentiation, if there is no differentiation because there is no distinction, then because it cannot return from one, one would think of it as distinct. Without completely abandoning non-distinction, it will be made by discrimination. If that becomes true, then the meaning of non-distinction becomes false. The natures that are mutually non-existent have causes that are non-other. Because it is a single entity, therefore one does not have the nature of two. The natures that are mutually non-existent, if they are names, then there is no distinction. Is a substance destructible or indestructible? Thus, it is another. A permanent substance that is eternally abiding, being destroyed by different moments, why would one not want contradiction? One should not desire different characteristics. If one desires that, why in general, following all appearances, if one wants one, why not want mother and wife to be one? The faults of difference, existence, and non-existence, have been explained, if one desires those, what then? How will they not each become faults? How will that not become two? Molasses becomes the cause of phlegm, and bile is said to be the cause of fever. Its root or other mixture is named molasses and bile. Not all sweets are the cause of phlegm, like honey. Like Magadha, pungency is also not a producer of bile. What is it that is individually close? Just as the oiliness and pungency of meat produce phlegm and bile, why not desire one's own self to be mixed? If it is a result dependent on ability, then the connection is only with qualities, and some are only slightly present, that is not present in all. Merely because of difference and non-difference, what kind of fault will arise? The fault of becoming a contradictory close object, even if it arises, that is not its own self, if one does not want to return, in that way, those shapes, etc., only a part is manifested, likewise, it is not some either, because there is no manifestation of a part, that is also expressed by a single sound.
