That which does not produce a result contrary to its own nature is not the nature of producing that result. For example, like the seed of a koṭrava that does not produce a result contrary to the nature of producing rice sprouts. Because this is saying that from the proximate cause of rice, etc., previously it was the seed, etc., of a result that has the opposite of the nature of producing a result. This cannot be universally applied because it cannot be determined. Therefore, inference is also harmed, how can something recognized through experience become a valid means of cognition? Because it causes harm, it is not a valid means of cognition, how can it cause harm? If it is not a valid means of cognition, then who will harm it, and this will become mutually dependent. Because recognition is not a valid means of cognition, this inference will not be harmed, but because it is related to its own thesis. Moreover, harming the opposite is because it is determined by the power of valid cognition. If it is said that it is not, because direct perception is the main valid cognition of other valid cognitions. If it is said that recognition has not been established as direct perception, then it cannot be said that inference will harm something that exists in the nature of direct perception. What can direct perception do with its power? If it has no meaning, then it cannot be said to be a valid means of cognition. Inference is also produced from a sign related to meaning, because it is the same, so there is no difference. If it is said to be contrary to inference, but the valid cognition of recognition has the same form as it, if it is shown as one, then blue and another flower, etc., are not valid means of cognition from one open thing. Inferring from seeing the fruit of flowers, etc., is not different. It is enough to experience through direct perception that it is not so, and to expand the establishment of the momentary destruction that prevents the valid cognition of recognition. Because the thing of the seed that produces the form of existing in that way and the state of not producing is different, therefore there is no difference from the final state, and immediately produces the fruit of sprouts, etc., that is the nature of producing sprouts. Because the nature of inferring from seeing the fruit is the nature of producing the fruit. If so, then it is the nature of producing sprouts.

Then, how can it be said that the previously existing states are the cause of it, since they are not the nature of producing it? If those who seek sprouts accept it, then the previous state is mentioned. The state that exists in the period of being in straw, etc., is no different from the state of the ultimate cause of sprouts, etc., because the cause depends on the difference of other conditions. Because it is produced through transmission, they are nominally established. Those who seek sprouts accept calling the cause the proximate cause. Because the nature of seeds, etc., depends on other causes, that is, depends on the cause that produces it, so it is the nature of producing it. Therefore, being associated with seeds, etc., is not an uncertain cause, because it is its nature, which is the conclusion of the argument. If so, then when it is temporarily recognized that direct perception is a permanent phenomenon, Others say that when being associated with seeds, etc., is shown to be an uncertain cause, since the previously mentioned direct perception and inference will cause harm, if it has no self-nature, then how can it be one with it? It has been explained why it becomes an uncertain cause. When it is recognized that the nature of the previous and subsequent periods of seeds, etc., is the same, if others argue in this way, then this is not an established argument here, because it does not actually exist in some cases, because we believe that momentary things have no oneness. Or, even if it is many momentary things, since it is impossible to distinguish the oneness of each moment of seeds, etc., so like the last moment, everything has the ability to produce, because its nature depends on water, etc., so this is a doubt about the uncertainty of its state. Therefore, "born from others," etc., are mentioned, and there is no uncertainty in the moment. Since each moment is produced from other conditions, the moments are different, so they have the ability, and produce like the last moment.
