Lo. In order to show that contradiction, it is said, "If there is not, it will not arise," and so on. Whatever reason exists only when the dharma to be established exists, that is what is called "If there is not, it will not arise." It means that if there is not the dharma to be established, there is no word "not." If "If there is not, it will not arise" itself has already been shown by stating the concomitance and contradiction of the reason, then how can the reason with the characteristic of "If there is not, it will not arise" exist on the subject that is to be established? Moreover, there will be no dharma to be established on this, so it should not be considered acceptable. In order to show that it should not be considered acceptable by means of questioning, it is said, "Direct perception and inference," and so on. Direct perception and inference will separate the dharma to be established from the subject, while the reason of "If there is not, it will not arise" will cause the dharma to be established to enter the subject, so now, is this dharma to be established separated from the subject due to the fear of direct perception and inference? Or is it abiding on it due to the power of reason? When thinking about this question, things will fall into great difficulty. Like this, direct perception and inference will grab the neck with their hands and separate the dharma to be established, while the reason will sit in front and use both hands, whether they have strength or not, to make it enter it, so they pull each other, and will fall into a dangerous situation. In order to dispel the doubt of the opportunity for others' words, if you say to others, "The reason is the dharma to be established," and so on. The reason "If there is not, it will not arise" is directed at the subject that does not belong to the current situation, not at the subject itself. Therefore, what is the use of this? "Falling into the current situation" is the doubt of the former. The establisher of the tenet, in order to contradict each other, said, "What is that affliction," and so on. For example, just as someone marries a hermaphrodite as a wife and then wants to have children, this should also be seen as similar. The reason's "If there is not, it will not arise" itself.

Now is the messenger. To be separated from this is to be impotent. If, like that which does not appear without being, similar to the impotent one, is shown to be close, then, for the subject, it becomes the ultimate of the characteristic of determining the dharma to be established. In order to show that, it is said, "In what, what subject" etc. If any reason, for the timely subject, even if there is no dharma to be established, that reason similar to the existent is shown to be close to the subject, then how can it be said that the subject has the dharma to be established? Also, in order to welcome the doubt of the opportunity of other statements, it is said, "If for that, it is said harmless" etc. In order to thoroughly distinguish that, it is said, "Thinking like this" etc. The other party says: Because in any case, for the subject that the reason obviously wants, even if there is no dharma to be established, there will be doubt, just because of that, I clarify the subject with the dharma that has not been harmed by the valid cognition. Whatever subject has the dharma that has not been harmed, is the subject with the dharma that has not been harmed. Like this, because in any case, there also exists a subject with the dharma that has been harmed, just because of that, the object itself that has not been harmed is said to be another characteristic, this is the doubt of the former. The proponent says: It is said, "Only with those harmless" etc. If wherever, the subject with the dharma that has not been harmed by the valid cognition is established, then, like this, only with harmlessness can the established be established, so there is no need for any reason at all. Like this, the harmer eliminates the dharma to be established, if that does not exist, then, in order to establish the dharma to be established, it is also not contradictory to the need for reason. Like this, here, is the valid cognition that makes the dharma to be established not exist, is it definitely entering? Or is it uncertain? These are two distinctions. As for the first distinction, it is said, "From the non-existence of the established" etc. If harm
