is the reason for non-existence. Wherever there is no difference, it is the reason for naming it "non-existence," in order to understand the distinctions. The object of focus is the act of focusing, which is a synonym for the direct perception that completely cuts off and knows. The knowable object of focus is the knowable object of focus. Because it is something to be understood, it is knowable, that is, becoming the knowable object of focus, is becoming the knowable object of focus, that is, the knowable object of focus itself becoming the object, is its synonym. Even without the cause of the essence, it is possible to mainly show the essence, for example, in two and one, saying it as two and should be said as one, just like here it is said that the meaning of the sutra is two itself and one itself. Becoming the knowable object of focus is, apart from the cause of the object of focus, the essence similar to other causes such as heterologous and real objects, and the object, time, and the share of the essence are not separated, which is its synonym. There are two kinds of objects of focus, namely the dharma of the knower and the dharma of the meaning of the known. For the time being, in order to show the nature of the knower, it is said "regarding the object of focus" and so on. When one wants to say that it is the object of focus and the dharma of the knower, then, whatever is the direct perception of the consciousness of the knower, here it is said as the sound of the object of focus. In order to show the pure meaning of this, it is said "the object of focus other than that is" and so on. Apart from the consciousness that grasps the pot and so on, which one wants to say as the dharma of the object of focus, what is the object of focus that grasps the ground devoid of the pot, here it is said as the sound of non-object of focus. If it is only the object of focus, how can it be said as the sound of non-object of focus? It is said "because it is other than the object of focus that one wants to say," that is, because apart from the object of focus that grasps the pot that one wants to say, this object of focus that grasps the ground devoid of the pot is other, so it is said as non-object of focus, because it is a negative usage. For example, apart from what is edible, what is inedible, impure, and so on, and

Apart from what is tangible, what is intangible is like the untouchable and brooms, etc. Entering into non-existence is entering into non-existence, abandoning the meaning to be negated, and entering into a thing with a special meaning, which is its definition. Such an entry into non-existence is perfectly applicable here. Non-existence is mainly about establishing, while negation is understood through meaning, and should be viewed as such. Since the object is different from the object one wants to express, establishment is the main thing. In this way, merely by the power of establishing the existence of another object, one can come to know the negation of the object one wants to express. Conversely, it should be regarded as negating through non-existence, because there, negation is the main thing. Thus, having shown that it is the nature of knowing non-object, in order to show that it is the nature of the object to be known, it is said, "If it is the nature of the object," etc. When one wants to express that the object is the nature of the object to be objectified, the object should be regarded as the self-nature of the object. What kind of self-nature of the object is called object? It is said, "Self-object consciousness," etc., that is, the consciousness that can generate the object of the self-nature of the pot, etc., which should be negated, and the self-nature of the object with that characteristic is called the word object. Because this consciousness has the object of the self-nature of the pot, etc., it is the self-object. It is the self-object, and it is consciousness, so it is the self-object consciousness, and its arising is called so. The words are combined as "able to generate self-object consciousness," because this self-nature of the object has the characteristic of being able to generate self-object consciousness, so it has the characteristic of being able to generate self-object consciousness. If here, how is the self-nature of the object the characteristic of possibility? Because this is the nature of possibility, and dharma and dharmic are completely different.
