It is said, "Speaking of 'that' and so on." A thing is only the dharma nature in which its own nature exists. Like this, as long as the cause of destruction has not approached, it exists. Such a thing will be destroyed by other things, and that cause is not without another nature. However, the view that only the transformation of things is called destruction, and there is nothing else besides, is the previous view. Summarizing the established tenets, it is said, "This answer is" and so on. It is said that this pure answer does not go beyond two distinctions. In order to explain those two distinctions themselves, it is said, "Is a thing eternally constant by its own nature?" and so on. It is said, is a thing eternally constant by its own nature? Or not. If asked what it will become, it is said, "From the aspect that should be examined, it has already become constant before" and so on. When examining it in that way, if it is said that it has already become constant before, and later approaching the cause of destruction will become impermanent, then, at that time, all the things that were previously considered constant will also strongly assert that they are two things with different natures of constant and impermanent, and they themselves will also strongly assert that they are destruction and non-destruction. Because there are different natures of constant and impermanent here, these are two things with different natures of constant and impermanent. Like this, considering one's own dharma nature different from others, the nature of the transformation of things is destruction, and at that time, it is also not different from that, then two natures will be acknowledged. If asked how it is one's own destruction and non-destruction, the answer is, if the previous nature itself is destructive, then at that time, it is said that this destructive nature itself is destroyed. Even so, the cause of destruction is meaningless. Because the later nature produced by the cause of destruction is also the nature of destruction, so self-destruction, the cause of destruction is meaningless. However, if the previous nature is not destructive, then at that time, it is also said that it is not self-destructive. In order to summarize, it is said, "In that case, for the previous" and so on. In that way, speaking in the way that has been said, for the previous things that were considered constant, in either case, the cause of destruction is powerless.

It abides in what is called 'non-existence.' In order for the opponent to completely avoid the fault of a single entity having both the nature of permanence and impermanence, it is stated, 'Having first become permanent,' and so on. It means that if the entity asserted to be permanent first becomes permanent and then later becomes impermanent, that is impossible. However, this entity can only be permanent even later. Here, as a reason, it is stated, 'Because the nature is one,' and so on. It means that because the nature of this entity is one, how could it be later impermanent? This is the former's view. The proponent of the established conclusion says: Then, that entity, and so on. It means that if this entity is not associated with the destruction of its own nature and does not change, then how should destruction be called? The unchanging own nature should always be recognized as destruction. Why? Because it is stated, 'Its nature and destruction, etc.' It means that the permanent nature and destruction are different in their respective characteristics because the natures of destruction and non-destruction are characteristics that exist separately from each other, so it is thought. These two have each other's nature, so they are entities with each other's nature. What does not have each other's nature is what does not have each other's nature. Its nature is itself, for that reason. To conclude, it is stated, 'Therefore, does this have destruction?' and so on. It means that because it is so, whenever one wants to consider this entity, which is considered permanent, as destruction, then it must become the nature of destruction. If it is not so, it cannot be destroyed. Even so, the cause of destruction is meaningless, as has been said before. To conclude, it is stated, 'Therefore, even if the entity's nature is destruction,' and so on. Thus, in the manner of refutation, if the entity has the nature of destruction, or does not have the nature of destruction, in any case, there is no need for any cause of destruction. To conclude the main text, it is stated, 'Therefore, the entity does not depend on destruction,' and so on.
