One who abides in a place. That which is called expecting a result is a synonym for being able to benefit. Furthermore, why seek fault in the nature of arising from those who act together on permanent things as being born from another? Saying, "If the nature of arising was also present before, then..." etc., if in the permanent, the nature of arising was also present before, then at that time it is not permissible not to arise, and it should also arise before, is a different name. Thus, in the incidental of acting together, having come through successive stages, having been completed, for the sake of concluding the main text, saying, "Therefore, whatever the nature of whatever is, then..." etc., for what reason are seeds etc. not determined in this way? Therefore, because of completely abandoning etc. For whatever the nature of any thing is, then only by the measure of its existence does it become such, not for the sake of first existing and then accomplishing such a nature later, it does not depend on the action of another. For what reason is it so? For that reason, if a thing is a nature that does not abide only by its own nature, then it does not need even a little cause of destruction. However, if here it is promised to be of a stable nature, then at that time, even for a thing that is a dharma of abiding, it is not possible to transform its nature, so the cause of destruction is extremely unnecessary, just as a woodworm cannot do even a little harm to a diamond. Because this has the dharma of not abiding, this is a dharma nature of not abiding, which is a different name for the nature of shaking. Because this has the dharma of abiding, this is a dharma nature of abiding, which is a different name for stable nature. In that, one thinks, is the dharma nature of abiding also only transforming nature? Why? However, saying, "If it transforms into another nature, then..." etc., if it transforms into another nature, then it is not only a permanent nature. Therefore, because two contradictory dharmas cannot be connected, that is the previous permanent, it has already exhausted the nature of the dharma of not abiding, and an answer has already been given to that examination. In that, one thinks, transformation

If one thinks like this, therefore, it is said, "Whatever changes from the other, is..." and so on. Regarding this, whatever changes from the other, which is considered the cause of destruction, is only the other. If something is the other, how can it be termed its own nature? Why? Therefore, it is said, "The difference of things is the characteristic of the difference of nature," and so on. Whatever is the difference of things is the characteristic of the difference of nature. Here, if the nature is different, how can it not be the difference of things? Regarding this, it is thought that whatever changes from the other is ultimately a different nature. If so, what is the fault? If so, it is said, "The previous object..." and so on. When whatever changes from the other is only the other. If so, then the previous object with a stable nature abides in the indestructible Dharma nature, therefore nothing can transform it into the other. The causes of destruction are all meaningless there. Haven't you seen that the inherent properties of things like copper, etc., which abide, produce other properties such as softness from things like fire, etc.? Therefore, it is said, "This explains the hardness of things like copper..." and so on. It is said, "Whatever changes from the other is a different nature," which clearly shows that when the hardness of copper approaches fire, it will be clearly recognized that it will transform into the other nature of softness. Saying "etc." is to clearly recognize that when the softness of water approaches cold, it will transform into the other nature of hardness. How is it clear? Therefore, it is said, "Regarding this, the previous..." and so on. Regarding this, is the previous hardness, etc., of things like copper, etc., because it will naturally be destroyed by itself? No, but from the cause of things like fire acting together, and the moment of things like copper as the cause of its own closeness, only other natures such as softness, etc., will arise. It is not that the previously existing nature transforms into another nature. Again, in order to be refuted by others, that is only the Dharma nature of its own existence.
