There is nothing that is not known and directly realized. By whatever nature the nature of self-awareness is, that is the direct realization of self-awareness. Here, when forms and so on appear, at the same time, the aspects of inner happiness and so on are experienced. It cannot be said that the aspects to be grasped, such as blue, are themselves experienced as the nature of tranquility and so on. Because, it is not certain that blue and so on are experienced as the nature of tranquility and so on. If this itself is the nature of tranquility, then it will definitely be established that blue and so on are the nature of happiness. For whatever nature, the action of direct realization by conceptual thought, that is the direct realization of its meaning, and the subsequent realization, that is direct realization. For blue, there is no subsequent realization of the nature of happiness. Therefore, when experiencing blue, what is experienced is happiness that is different from the meaning of blue that is not happiness. That is also consciousness, therefore there is experience of consciousness. The nature of consciousness, awareness, is also directly realized by oneself, and is non-conceptual and non-erroneous, therefore it is direct realization. In order to explain the direct realization of yogis, it is said that the meaning of "and" and "truth" is truth. Happiness is also the meaning seen by measure, such as the Four Noble Truths of the noble ones. Meditating on the true meaning is repeatedly familiarizing it in the mind. The excellence of meditation is to begin to make the consciousness that appears with the meaning to be meditated on appear clearly. The limit of excellence is when the clear appearance is slightly incomplete. Thus, as long as the clear appearance is not complete, there will always be a difference, and when it is complete, there will be no difference. Therefore, the clear appearance of the state before the complete state is called the limit of excellence. Whatever arises from that limit, like dwelling nearby, the consciousness that holds the aspect of the meaning to be meditated on very clearly is the direct realization of the yogis. Therefore, here, the state of beginning the clear aspect is the excellence of meditation, like a cliff with a gap in between. When the meaning to be meditated on

That which is seen is the state of the ultimate peak, and the meaning of seeing that is meditated upon as if placing a crystal ball in the palm of one's hand, that is the direct perception of a yogi. That is clear appearance, and precisely because it is a clear appearance, it is also non-conceptual. The consciousness of discrimination, at the time of expression, grasps objects as the very thing seen, and therefore grasps things that can be mixed with sound. What is seen at the time of expression is also the object of the consciousness that arises at the time of expression. Thus, just as the consciousness of autumn perishes and does not exist now, so too, the object of the past consciousness that has perished does not exist now. Therefore, since it grasps objects that are not of the nature of reality, discrimination appears unclearly. Therefore, because it appears clearly, it is non-conceptual, and because it grasps the meaning established by valid cognition, it is not deceptive. Therefore, like other direct perceptions, it is yogic direct perception. Yoga is samadhi. One who possesses these is a yogi, and his consciousness is direct perception. O (Tibetan), is a word of completeness, and direct perception is limited to these. Thus, direct perception is shown to be distinct from conceptualization and possessing the quality of non-deception, and in order to eliminate the inverted understanding of the object of experience, it is said, "its." The object of those four kinds of direct perception, what should be understood is its own characteristic, and its own unique nature is its own characteristic. Things have both unique happiness and commonality, and that which is unique is what should be grasped by direct perception. The object of valid cognition is of two kinds: that which is produced, that is, the object to be grasped, and that which is the object of attachment, that is, the object to be attained. The object to be grasped is different, and the object to be attached is also different. Thus, the object to be grasped by direct perception is only one moment, while the action of definite attachment produced by the power of direct perception is a continuum. The object to be attained by direct perception is also a continuum. Because a moment cannot be attained. Now, inference is also, for its own meaningless appearance, also for its own appearance.
