The saying called "Rū," its meaning of understanding is: Regarding the characteristics of an example, whatever meaning, that is, the content that needs to be or is to be expressed, can be understood, that is called "Rū." Its entity is itself, therefore. Explaining the characteristics of an example is for the sake of how to understand the example, and the example is also definite. For the entity, this is impossible, therefore it is only to prove its words. Whatever exists is the distribution, that is, what has been established or is to be expressed, the example is also understood as knowledge. How is that meaning understood? It is said: The ways of reasoning of effect, nature, and non-apprehension, in general, have already been explained commonly and without distinction, this is the concluding word. What is that? Whatever exists in the concordant side, and from all discordant sides removing these two ways, have already been explained without distinction. Although it has been explained in general, it cannot be understood, therefore it is necessary to explain the boundary of its own distinction. Therefore, in distinction, the two, effect and nature, arise, and only follow after that, this should be explained, that is, if it is known that the effect is produced, then it will be known that it only exists in the concordant side, and is removed from all discordant sides. Nature should explain that it only follows after that, this "it" is the establisher. Only it itself, that is, only by the establisher following after, following after is only having the establisher, there is the establisher, and when the establisher, only by having something to be established, understands its own nature, then the reason of nature will know that it only exists in the concordant side, and is removed from all discordant sides. In this way, the general characteristic should be understood as having the nature of distinction, otherwise it is not, therefore the characteristic of distinction is explained. If it is really like that, what will happen? It said "that also," wanting to show the general characteristic, it should be combined to show only by showing the characteristic of distinction. Wherever there is smoke, there is fire, this is the effect.

It shows the pervasiveness of the reason for the cause. The pervasiveness is also determined from the valid cognition (pramāṇa) in order to establish the entities of cause and effect. Therefore, it should be said, for example, like a kitchen. If there is no fire, there is no smoke, which shows the reversal. That should also be shown as something like another, it needs to be shown that if the fire goes out, the smoke will definitely reverse, and that should also be shown as something other than the kitchen. Wherever conditioned phenomena exist, there is permanence, which shows the pervasiveness of the reason of self-nature. If it is impermanent, then conditioned phenomena cannot exist, which shows the reversal. The valid cognition that establishes pervasiveness should also be shown from examples that conform to the Dharma. For the reason that pervasiveness is completely established, it is also necessary to show that if what is to be established reverses, it also reverses. Therefore, undoubtedly, that is like a pot and the sky, it should be shown like that. Why is that so? The word "otherwise" is mentioned, because otherwise, it cannot show the general characteristics, that is, existence and non-existence in similar aspects, as mentioned, it can only be determined to exist in similar aspects, and it can only be determined to not exist in dissimilar aspects, as mentioned. After showing the specific characteristics, it is showing the existence and non-existence as mentioned. The specific characteristics cannot be shown elsewhere either. The result of what is to be established is its result, which is smoke. Its entity is its result. That is certain. Like this, for fire, smoke is determined to be its result. The nature of the specific characteristic that is determined to be its result cannot be shown elsewhere. The sign of self-nature is the difference of the self-nature to be established, and the nature of the specific characteristic cannot be shown elsewhere either. Like this, cause and effect, and its self-nature, should be understood from the kitchen and the pot. Therefore, showing with the valid cognition that establishes pervasiveness, one should show an example that conforms to the Dharma. Its result
