is the object of the term 'non-existence,' meaning it is to be termed as 'that does not exist.' This is to establish the very possibility of being named as non-existent. Therefore, it must be definitely shown that the appearance of non-apprehension is on the very nature of being able to be named as non-existent. The non-apprehension of appearance is solely what can be named as non-existent, that is the meaning. By showing that what establishes is definitely on the meaning of what is to be established, it also shows pervasion, as it is said: the pervasion of what pervades is only on that, and what is to be pervaded is also only on that. Showing that the object of valid cognition establishing pervasion is an example, therefore, 'for example' is said, showing that the example is different from the subject to be established, that is the meaning. 'Seeing' means certainty of measurement. Although a rabbit's horn is not made into an object of the eye, nevertheless, through the means of valid cognition, it is known to be able to be named as non-existent. Whatever is the object of the term 'non-existence,' such as a rabbit's horn, is called that; a rabbit's horn, etc., is established as a valid non-existence only by the non-apprehension of appearance. Therefore, the pervasion to be expressed by this is to be known from valid cognition. Having shown the pervasion, now, in order to show the nature of the aspect of non-apprehension of appearance, 'in which particular aspect' is said; aspect is one aspect of the earth. That which is differentiated from others is differentiation; since it is a differentiation of one aspect, it is in one aspect. 'Someone' refers to the direct perception of the one who understands; that one aspect is also the direct perception of the establisher who has become the basis of the term 'non-existence,' and not another. That which has become the characteristic of the object is appearance; as it has already been explained that even if a pot has become non-existent, it is still imputed and becomes an object of awareness. In order to show the connection of that which has the same nature as the reason of its own nature, 'in that way' is said, meaning that just as there is non-apprehension, so too is the connection of that which has the same nature. 'Whatever exists' is said after mentioning existence,

Thus, the statement "everything is impermanent" establishes the meaning of impermanence itself. The mention of "everything" is for the sake of certainty, meaning that everything is impermanent, and there is nothing that is not impermanent. Whatever exists is only impermanent; other than impermanence, permanence does not exist. Thus, the meaning of impermanence to be established is to definitively show its existence. In this way, this is a statement showing pervasiveness. Like "pot," etc., this establishes pervasiveness and shows the realm of valid cognition. The term "pure" refers to the combination of a nature without distinctions. To show distinctions, it is said, "whatever possesses arising," meaning that whatever has the nature of obtaining arising is what possesses arising. The statement "whatever possesses arising" follows the statement of possessing arising and establishes the meaning of "that is impermanent." Thus, what possesses arising is definitely shown to be impermanent. Becoming the nature, that is, the dharma of the essence of nature, becoming distinct by that distinction, is the combination made into a reason. Based on the opposite of non-arising, things are said to arise. That opposite itself, when one wants to say that it does not depend on other opposites, then the arising of things is shown to be similar to a different entity, and the thing distinguished by such a different arising is also said to possess arising. Therefore, one should view the dharma that has become the nature as the combination of nature distinguished by the difference of permanence. The statement "whatever is made" follows the statement of being made and establishes that it is impermanent. Therefore, what is made is definitely shown to be impermanent. Thus, impermanence pervades what is made. The phrase "by the distinction of difference" should be connected to "the combination of nature." Pervasive means to make it pervasive. By its difference, it means the combination of nature that has become distinct by the difference of that distinction. In this, sometimes only the meaning of purity is stated. Sometimes by the difference of non-distinct entities.
