It should be thought of in this way. Whatever is not different in cause from something, that is not different in nature from that thing. For example, the sprout of a salu is different from another sprout. Happiness and so on are also not different in cause from consciousness. In particular, the non-difference of cause is pervaded by the universal nature of having a cause. If there is no difference in cause, the result will become different, because it will become without various causes. Because there is no pervader, the non-difference of cause, when receding from that, is pervaded by the non-difference of nature, so it is nature. If happiness and so on become the inner basis of self-grasping, then, wouldn't there be suspicion that consciousness and close-taking are one? Because the inner, that is, becoming the basis of self-grasping, that is not its own essence, but is like external things such as sound. Therefore, you should also, like treating those things, not suspect that these things also have the same cause as consciousness. For us, the permanent nature or the impermanent transformation, if Purusha (Sanskrit: पुरुष, IAST: puruṣa, Chinese: Purusha) has permanent consciousness, then the cause must be the same. Or, if the inner self-intellect is the nature of the three qualities, even so, its nature is not to be enjoyed by Purusha, but is the appearance of the object existing in it. As it is said, the meaning appearing in the intellect is known by Purusha. Because there is no difference, the self-image of things does not exist in the intellect. Therefore, the happiness and so on being experienced are only external. In this way, although by negation, the happiness and so on being sentient is negated, but, the experience becomes the nature of the aspect of happiness and so on, therefore happiness and so on is also the nature of experience, and also becomes external, thus by tightening the space of other words, it is said that it is not sentient, because it will fall into complete transformation, so Purusha is not holding the aspect of happiness and so on, therefore happiness and so on, if it becomes the nature of consciousness, holding its aspect is not enjoying the object, but Purusha.

And the objects and images are mixed with the mind. Then, how can it be clearly manifested within? It is said that happiness and so on become the self, and those that are the manifestations of happiness and so on are sounds and images and so on. The nature is because it follows all the transformations. From experiencing them, happiness and so on are experienced, and from that, it is realized that they are experienced, that is, known and ascertained. This is what is taught: the determination of experiencing happiness and so on within is because of the ultimate appearance of the object, not because it becomes the self of experience. Others are the Samkhya. Not only is the previous view unreasonable, but it is also unreasonable according to the view that happiness and so on are the self of things. How is it known? It is explained that even if the external sounds and so on are not different, that is, even if it is the same, joy, that is, the appearance of happiness, and complete suffering, the appearance of suffering, come from habituation, that is, from the difference of practice, the difference changes, that is, it becomes different, this is the reason. Those that are not the nature of things are the result of valid cognition. If it becomes different due to habituation, then how can it not be the nature of things? It is explained that what is the reason is the meaning of the reason. Where does the self of sounds and so on exist, that is, if happiness and so on are the difference in the nature of sounds and so on, this is the meaning. Because of clinging to the fact that there is no difference between images and objects, the self is mentioned. The meaning is that if the nature of sounds and so on appears, this is the meaning. At that time, for the sounds and so on that have no difference, that is, for the only one. From the difference of habituation, it refers to the external objects that are habituated by relying on benefit and harm and equanimity. Joy and complete suffering are the appearance of unhappiness and happiness. The difference is to become other or to increase, that is, for one knower, it will not happen gradually or for many at the same time. The appearance of things such as blue is the way of appearance. That itself is the difference.
