Therefore, from the non-deceptive appearance of energy, existence and non-existence themselves, and also from that difference itself, it is possible to distinguish "that itself" and "other." Precisely because of this, different appearances with different energy characteristics are considered to be different reasons. For those who are aware and located near and far, some appearances are different, but they do not follow the trajectory of different energies, therefore, things are not different. Alternatively, this is said to be for the accumulation of other arguments. Because the non-deceptive appearance of energy is different, and not the same merely because of that reason, therefore the field of sound itself is not a thing, and from that, appearances and discriminations are not the same. If there is no object in which the visible form appears clearly, then no matter what appearance of sound is clung to as existing, it is not the nature of what is seen, because it has another form of incapacity. Also, for what is seen, if clinging to the object that appears clearly is its nature, then wouldn't it become the object of appearance itself? Therefore, if it is said that the object of the senses, the non-appearance of sound, is not established, then the answer is that even if it exists, it is so. Not only is there no object, but even if it exists, the knowledge arising from sound is not clinging to the nature of that object to be seen, because the object to be seen is not an appearance. If it is said that the appearance is not clinging to the nature of what is seen? The answer is that even if clinging is true, just as clinging to a non-existent thing is its nature, but it is not its nature, it is the same for an existent thing. Why? The answer is: the knowledge arising from sound is no different from the knowledge of the appearance of the meaning of that which does not exist. Because this appearance is no different from the appearance of the meaning of non-existence, therefore what is seen is not an appearance, that is its meaning. How is there no difference? It is explained that even if there is no object, the appearance arising from sound does not disappear, because it does not regress. Because whatever appearance arises from sound is mixed with sound, and whatever is mixed with sound is also seen as related to sound.

Also, whatever appears in connection with sound, also appears from the expression of sound. The appearance arising from sound follows with the power of sound expression, and it occurs even where there is no object, therefore there is no fault. Therefore, even if it occurs where there is an object, but it does not depend solely on sound, such an appearance, without distinction from others, is not the nature of seeing. If it is thought that it appears without distinction, then why is it that merely by this, the knowledge that arises in a place where an object exists and clings to its nature, is not grasping at the object? It is explained that it is not grasping because it does not follow existence and non-existence. Because, whatever knowledge follows and returns from appearance, that is grasping. The aspect of non-appearance and non-distinction does not follow the following and returning of objects, therefore it is not grasping. In order to show this meaning from the perspective of returning and following, two examples are given, such as the mind of taste for smell, and so on. The mind of taste does not grasp smell. Therefore, appearance does not follow the following and returning of smell. Also, whichever appearance follows the following and returning of whichever, that is its grasping, for example, for form, like the mind of the eye. If the mind of taste does not cling to the nature of the appearance of smell, smell is not an appearance, but the realization arising from sound, because clinging to its appearance is the nature of seeing, is not seeing itself an appearance? Therefore, even if it does not follow following and returning, even if it has not become the cause of knowledge arising from seeing, now because of appearance, why would it not become the object of this seeing? It is explained that the ability to cast one's own aspect onto the mind, placing it there, whatever power is there, that is the object, and that itself is only the cause. Outward, it is called the reason. Therefore, not following following and returning, not being a cause is not an object. Is it merely appearance, not the cause of understanding meaning? Therefore, following
