Because it is not produced by being interrupted, and there is no difference from that, therefore all are only not produced. If the previous moment itself has awakened the memory, why is a second moment, etc., needed for that? It is said: The nature of being in a suitable place is that it becomes the nature of awakening the memory that produces sensory consciousness by its own causes. The second moment, etc., also, as a basis for gathering nearby, produces such a nature by its own causes, so each moment is the cause of awakening memory, but not a necessity. These are not permanent, but they are the nature of being related to causes. Because the very thing that causes the senses and attention to gather can produce memory, and cannot produce memory, what kind of nature of the thing is it that the nature of seeing where it can produce, then the same nature should not be unable to produce it. The later moments in relation to memory are also not unable to produce memory, because the collection of causes different from memory is the same as the previous moment. The memory awakened by the nature of being in a suitable place is also not weakening the ability to awaken that has become its own nature, just as smoke weakens the ability to produce the nature of fire. Therefore, those who are in a suitable place are not actually produced because the ability to produce memory is no different. Therefore, this reason will change even if it is meaningless. Also, the word "also" indicates that sometimes there is. In short, the arising of eye consciousness does not depend on its ability. The previous reason concludes that eye consciousness can arise even if it is meaningless, because things are not actually connected to the consciousness that depends on the senses, and being in a suitable place is a closer connection than the cause of sensory consciousness, the awakening of memory. Someone might think, shouldn't one rely on things in order to awaken memory? Then why say even if it is meaningless? Because it has been said that it is connected to awakening memory, there is no other connection.

Because of this, previously awakening the memory and returning. Sensory consciousness is produced by the stream of memory in inner and outer sequence. Even when memory is awakened, sensory consciousness is obstructed by attachment to other things. Therefore, simply because there is no benefit, the mind does not rely on that thing. If sensory wisdom is produced by approaching things, then speech is interrupted by memory and becomes an obstacle, or speech memory itself is an obstacle to interruption, because it does not exist. It can be said that if there is no memory to express, then sensory consciousness arises only from things existing in the permissible realm, so it is only manifested, so there is no distinction. For this dependence, it is actually pervaded by what is directly produced, because from one to another transmission, the action on the past is also seen. Because dependence is, if it exists, it exists. For what is not directly produced, if it exists, it does not exist, because the object of contradictory nature pervades and the thing that pervades is established. Therefore, it is desired that what pervades is not manifest. Even if it is not directly produced, it is also because it exists in the permissible realm, interrupted by memory, it is the nature of producing consciousness, and for things that have become like that, its nature and its non-nature are contradictory. Therefore, if it is only with dependence on memory, then it is unreasonable to arise from things. If it is produced by things existing in the permissible realm, then because it does not depend on the general memory of speech, it is only without distinction. In this way, after eliminating the distinction of the nature of combining words, it is declared for the purpose of eliminating the distinction of the nature of combining things. The characteristic is ordinary, that is, benefiting others. The one with characteristics is the main one, that is, the one to be benefited. The relationship is those characteristics and those with characteristics, that is, the horns and the horned, and the characteristics of the gathering of lineages and those with lineages, or the characteristics of the possession of sticks and those with sticks. Worldly Dharma is the worldly treatise, that is, the realm of the terms of sounds that are determined separately in the characteristics or the possession of characteristics themselves of some things.
