It is indeed contradictory to observe pervasiveness. For those who speak of external objects as the cause of the appearance of external phenomena and as the cause of the arising of sense consciousness, both reasons are not established because they are destroyed. Thus, if sound is not the nature of meaning or is not in the realm of meaning, then because there is no arising, it is not a follower of sense consciousness. If sound is the nature of meaning or is in the realm of meaning, then let it be its nature, but it should also be observed whether it dwells in its realm at times. If the sound-meaning is the nature of the meaning from which sense consciousness arises, then that is its nature. Even if it is its nature or dwells in its realm, it does not follow its appearance. Why? Because sound cannot generate sense consciousness that is different from the sense consciousness that grasps sound. It is said that the nature of the aggregation of the numerous five aggregates of the Samkhyas is the realm of the activity of hearing. Similarly, if the meaning of grammarians is the transformation of sound, then the transformation of sound is the realm of the transformation of auditory sense consciousness, and not of others. Although it is in its realm, it is generated by itself because it is the realm of its own sense consciousness. Moreover, because it is too extreme, if any one thing holds all meanings, then the observation of the five senses, which follows the experience of all opponents, will be abandoned, which is too extreme. Because it is too extreme, it has no power. One's own sound has no power, so it does not hold, and because it is too extreme, it also has no power. This is the meaning of collecting another reason for establishing powerlessness. If the auditory sense consciousness arises from the power of sound, does it not have the appearance of sound? That
