is not seen. Therefore, how is it obtained? Because it is not obtained, it is not a valid cognition. Therefore, when valid and non-valid cognitions are distinguished based on whether others see or do not see the nature of things in this way, the teacher discerns seeing itself by saying "the one who sees things is also," and so on. The word "seeing" denotes what is to be seen, that is, in the sense of seeing, not making it unseen, that is, the seer himself exists, which is taken as an argument. Therefore, the meaning of the argument is "because there is the meaning of seeing," which means that the existence of the dharma called "seeing," which has become its essence, is actually the existence of itself, and this is also taken as an argument. Similarly, the knowledge of viewing also exists in the viewer himself, which is an argument. In other similar combinations of words with meaning, this discernment should also be observed. For example, "because direct perception sees, grasps, and knows things, therefore it is a valid cognition," like this, seeing and so on are also the dharmas of action and agent, things and knowledge. Even if the objects of cause and effect already exist, fearing that inference will become a valid cognition, one should not show the direct perception of others as the reason for valid cognition. The remaining two related actions should be adopted, and this does not go beyond the discernment mentioned earlier. Non-perversion is also either the object to be taken or the knowledge that takes, and it does not go beyond the dharmas of these two. If it is said to be a thing, then the meaning of the words at this time is: because there is the meaning of seeing, it is obtained through direct perception. When explaining this meaning, it should also be discerned that hidden things do not exist, so it will be said that it cannot be obtained through inference, and from this it is concluded that only things that are directly perceived exist, so all things will become directly perceived, and therefore everything will be seen by everything. This is not what the other party desires or is reasonable, because others admit hidden things.
