If it is said thus, even if it is said that there is only one that is not worth observing. If it is said that some words have not been seen, even so, all those who have not seen the difference, admitting that the kinds are different is contradictory. This is what is said, if all the words are not visible, even so, a little that is not made by man is visible. Those also have not seen the difference from what is made by man, therefore, because for a few visible words, the reason for not being made by man is also not seen. The difference in the reason for not being made by man cannot be admitted for the unseen words, because only that reason, if one does not have it, then there is no difference in all. Therefore, because of the contradiction, for what is made and not made by man, seeing that words are worth observing, what is the difference that is not seen, that is all that should be abandoned. If it is said how can there be no difference for a few visible ones, the answer is, those differences, that is, difficult to repeat, etc., the difference of not being made by man, can also be done for other words made by man. If it is said that even if things are seen to be different, but because of illusion they are recognized as not different, just like for words made and not made by man, although there is no difference, they are recognized because of illusion. The answer is, because illusion cannot be established. Because illusion cannot be established, so on what is made and not made by man, difference is not impossible to exist. Also if you ask, for this, how can illusion not be established? The answer is, because there is no harmer. If it is said that what is made and not made by man is not different, this is established by direct perception, if the measure without a harmer is also established, then how can it be abandoned? If it is said that experience is a measure. The answer is, then what is a measure? Because others can also obtain the meaning to be expressed, so it is a measure. Experience can also obtain the meaning to be expressed. If you ask, for what has no harmer, how is it a measure? If there is harm, then experience becomes illusion. The meaning of not knowing is not self-righteous, but is established by measure. Therefore, in the Commentary on Pramana, it is said, without the excellent reason of harming

It is said that even the wisdom that arises immediately from experience cannot be abandoned. If that were not the case, then everything seen should be abandoned. Therefore, the meaning established by experience should be refuted by a valid cognition that is harmful. For example, the perception of a cluster of hairs by someone with blurred vision is averted by what is harmful. Similarly, the very non-momentariness that is presumed to be realized by direct perception, like the hairs seen by someone with blurred vision, is averted by a valid cognition that harms with the sign of sequential and simultaneous incongruity. Likewise, the understanding that peacock bile and poison are not different should also be averted by what is harmful. If that is the case, then, just as oneself, seeing others also as having attachment and so on, is certain, how could that be mistaken since there is nothing harmful? Because of that reason, there is a reason for error. In this regard, for the time being, by means of the similar body that has become manifest, it is merely inferred that the mind, which is not manifest, is also similar. If that is the case, then, here too, having seen the similarity that has become manifest, is it inferred that what has not become manifest is similar? The answer is, it has already been said, "For sounds that are manifest," and so on. This is what is being said: if the nature of what is not manifest is the reason for error, then those are not present here. Since those are not present, there is no reason for error. Therefore, if direct perception does not harm the nature, then, just as with experience, by applying terms, it should also be accepted that this has the same nature, because there is no harm. If it is said that non-direct perception is an error with regard to the minds of others, but the knowledge that relies on one's own continuum is seeing and ascertaining that one has attachment and so on. For the distinction of one's own mind, there is no cause for error, namely the nature of non-direct perception, and also because there is no knowledge that harms, how can one infer that being free from attachment is possible? The answer is: For beings, seeing the excellent distinction in which wisdom and so on abide is preceded by habit.
