And that which pervades and that which is pervaded are also that which eliminates and that which should be eliminated. If it is not like that, it will not become the very entity of that which is pervaded and that which pervades, this explains this. Thus explained, then for the two kinds of reasons that have similarity and dissimilarity, what is to be understood and what is to be known, and what is the very thing to be understood and to be known, that is also its commentary. The cause of what is to be understood and what is to be known itself, since everything is definitely pervasive, its characteristic is the reason, because it is definitely pervasive. If that which follows the three aspects, is it not the only reason that has the relationship of its own nature? From what does it become two kinds? Answer: It is due to the nature of fabrication. Fabrication is the act of linguistic expression, that is, by the power of actual expression. From this reason, it becomes two kinds. Among them, some are the statements of establishing facts, and some are negations. Therefore, the two kinds arise from different statements. The cause that shows the two kinds is it, that is, in this, the dharma of the example and the dharma to be established are not the same. The dissimilar dharma is also made by the dharma that establishes. Whatever is made is impermanent, and sound is also made, because it is made, the two are similar, whatever is permanent is unmade, and sound is made, the dissimilarity of these is also made. Wherever the statement has similarity, that is similarity, and the rest is dissimilarity. If wherever there is similarity, there is the statement of following, and wherever there is dissimilarity, is there no contradiction? Because only a certain way is said, the two will not say the three ways. Therefore, not only is there a difference in fabrication, but also a difference in meaning? Answer: There is no difference in meaning between these two. In what sense does it become necessary for the two to combine, that is what is said here as meaning, not as what is said. Therefore, there is no difference in the meaning of these two languages.

There is also not, because both are established by relying on the reason of the three characteristics. If so, then if there is not even the slightest difference in the meaning to be realized by these two, there will be no difference in the act of expression, because that is its object. Doubting this, it is said that the difference of combination is not understood. This is what is said, in the act of expression, there is indeed a difference. In the meaning to be understood, there is not even the slightest difference. If what is to be directly expressed is not what is to be realized, then by the difference of the act of expression, things will also become different. However, what is to be directly expressed is other, and what is to be realized is also other. For example, Devadatta is fat and does not eat tsampa during the day. In this way, the fruit of what is eaten is directly expressed by language as fat, and a specific time is also prohibited, in fact, it is determined that he eats at night. Therefore, here what is to be expressed is other, and what is to be realized is also other. The way of realization can also be realized by the sound of "eating at night". Similarly, here too, the expression of the two is other, and what is to be realized is also other. Therefore, both are to realize the only meaning. If someone thinks that the difference that relies on the act of sound is not to express the inference of other meanings, why is it said here? The answer is, because after seeing that combination and becoming accustomed to it, it is also the same when one realizes oneself. Not only is it realized from others, but it is also the same when one realizes oneself, because it is realized through the way of establishment or the way of refutation, so it also shows the difference of the reason for inferring for one's own meaning. This is what is said, just as difference is needed to realize others, it is also the same to realize oneself, therefore, it is possible for one's own meaning, so the distinction is made here. If someone doubts, how can one realize the return when expressing the concomitance, since all that is to be expressed is the reason of the three characteristics? The answer is, because what is to be expressed is the common dharma.
