If asked what is not a valid cognition? It is the certain seeing without reversal. Apart from that, whatever sound and expression has that reason is not approaching, because there is doubt. Because it does not generate certainty about the non-existence of things, therefore it is not a valid cognition. In order to establish the non-approach itself, what is said is the part of knowing the saying, which is the uncertain non-apprehension. Non-deception is a part of all signs, but this non-apprehension does not have non-deception, therefore it cannot be realized from it. The first appearing non-apprehension is a valid cognition, because it has a certain result. It is said that the first non-apprehension is a valid cognition because it ascertains the non-existence of things. A valid cognition is said to be entering, and entering also has a certain cause. The appearing non-apprehension is a place devoid of a pot, and it ascertains that there is no pot, therefore it causes the one seeking a pot to retreat, and it causes the person seeking no pot to enter, therefore it is a valid cognition. The non-appearing non-apprehension is not certain, therefore it does not cause a person to enter into anything. The expression of existence that precedes certainty is a negation, but the expression that precedes doubt is not a negation. Therefore, there is also entry from doubt. Its validity is the cause of certainty that negates the expression of existence that precedes certainty. After explaining non-apprehension, it is said to explain nature: What is nature, that is the reason of the essence of the self. What kind of difference does the essence have? What is said is the dharma that establishes what is to be established, that existing thing itself, only that, only related to that existence. The essence of the essence that follows without duality is that. Why? It says "only related to that existence." Why not just say "whatever is the reason of that essence is nature"? Because the essence of the thing is said. What is the essence of the dharma to be established, that is the dharma of establishment.

Its nature is only reasonable when it is connected with the dharma to be established, but not with other meanings. The reason for saying this is why a distinction is made. Where does that come from? If the established dharma exists, but it has not existed, has not been established, and arises later, then the very nature of that established dharma is contradictory. How can what is established later be the nature of what was established earlier? If one thinks so, then what was established earlier becomes without self-nature, so establishment itself is unreasonable. Furthermore, difference is related to contradictory dharmas. Establishment and non-establishment are also contradictory in the nature of things and non-things, so it is unreasonable to be one. Furthermore, the difference of things is preceded by different causes. If those that were born earlier and those that will be produced later by other causes are not different, then from what will they be different? Therefore, those that have contradictory dharmas and arise at earlier and later times because of different causes are different, so they are not its nature. If it is not its nature, but it can become the object of knowledge and the subject of knowledge, then it is also said that the causes, etc., if the established dharma is established, then the dharma to be established that is later established from other causes will become the result, then the causes, etc., are certainly not unrelated to the result. Therefore, due to confusion about the result, the object of knowledge and the subject of knowledge do not exist either. Because what is later established from other causes is not its nature, nor is it its object of knowledge, therefore that which is to be established is also merely existent, and the reason for the subsequent connection is also self-nature and knowable, therefore, it is merely existent and has a subsequent connection. This distinction is made. That self-nature is also, when the word is used to closely establish one's own self-nature as the reason itself, the difference is the difference, relying on it to closely establish, or it is pure, for example, destruction is the impermanence to be established.
