It is not that there is nothing, and even if there is, it is not manifest, because even without the immediate cause, it would be possible to realize. If it is said that what is beyond the senses cannot be known by anyone, then by what can one know that which is beyond the senses? If this is the case, then those of the mundane would have no definite meaning, and even if they existed, they could not be known. If this is said, then it is explained: Apart from the expressive meaning that resides in what one wants to express, there is nothing that can be determined, nor can it be known. If one expresses the meaning of what one wants to express, then what one wants to express is the cause of the definite meaning, because whatever meaning one wants to express, that itself is what is to be expressed, so it is a definite meaning, and what clarifies that definite meaning is the symbol. In the made-up scriptures and mundane terms, whatever the speaker wants to express is what is used as a symbol, and at that time, from the speaker's terms, the knower also teaches his own students, and those also teach their own students. Because they are able to make them understand, it is known that there is a definite meaning because the oral tradition is not interrupted. The definite meaning that one wants to express does not exist in a realm that is not made by a person, nor is there a symbol that clarifies it. Therefore, in that which is not made by a person, where does the single meaning come from? It does not come from anywhere, nor can it be known. The meaning of sound is taken by the fame of the world. The meaning of the mundane is determined by its own nature, but it is not determined by anything, but rather by the power of symbols. The same is true of the Vedas, so how can it be said that meaning is not made by a person? If one accepts that it is determined by its own nature, that is unreasonable. If one accepts that all sounds are determined by their own nature, then the symbol by which one wants to express something else would be meaningless. Furthermore, if sounds are all by their own nature, then symbols would also be meaningless. Whatever meaning can be known by its own nature does not depend on making a symbol, just like a lamp. Sounds are also the power of their own nature, so symbols are meaningless. If it is said that the symbol is to clarify what is compatible, that is unreasonable, because in order to clarify

Even if acknowledged, from where does certainty arise? It is from immutability. Like this, whatever is considered to have the ability to understand, in order to clarify it with symbols, it becomes uncertain. This is what is being shown, that whatever is desired, such as the so-called Svatantrika school, etc. When clarifying and marking what is permissible with desire, the permissibility of desire itself does not become clear, however, the impermissibility of what is not desired also becomes clarified by symbols. All things have the same permissible meaning. Etc., this shows that for the knowledgeable, the meaning is uncertain and completely incomprehensible. Therefore, since there is no such essence or thing that is not made by a person, non-human origin is not a characteristic of scripture. To exclude other characteristics of scripture, it is said: not deceiving in one aspect is the characteristic of scripture. Any body that is not deceptive in the object that can be cognized by direct perception and inference, when it doubts the object beyond the senses, it is not deceptive in one aspect. The meaning of the combination is this: whatever is one aspect of this scripture is non-deceptive, for example, like the statement "fire is the enemy of snow." The statement "offering sacrifices to fire," which is the basis of the argument, and the words "abstaining from killing," etc., are also one aspect of this scripture. It is already established that it is one aspect of this scripture, that is, any word of the speaker, whose meaning is related to other meanings associated with that meaning, therefore, due to the meaning, it becomes one aspect of that scripture. If it is said that for non-human-made objects, any speech that follows other aspects is one aspect of it, then this is also incomprehensible. Like this, if only because some words of this scripture are seen to be non-deceptive, will all the words become non-deceptive and non-deceptive? This shows that just because it is not seen, it is impossible to prove non-deception by reason, therefore, the meaning of the characteristic of that scripture is uncertain. Now, if it is said...

Etc., by proving the purity of the scriptures, without confusion in their own meaning, thereby showing that all scriptures are not deceptive. The power of the combination belonging to sound itself accomplishes that the connection between sound and meaning is not confused. If there is no meaning of the language that appears in appearance, language will not be used. The meaning of sound is also like that, therefore there is no confusion on that, then how is sound not a valid cognition? If someone thinks that that meaning is harmed by other valid cognitions, therefore it is not a valid cognition. Then, this is unreasonable. Because for the meaning of sound, other valid cognitions are not applicable. The relationship between action and agent is not understood through direct perception. Direct perception only grasps the object itself. Objects are like iron skewers, without connection. Inference is also preceded by direct perception. Therefore, for the meaning of language that is not directly related, direct perception and inference are not applicable. Therefore, like the words "In the doubt of water mist, there is a pile of brown sugar like a mountain," and "There are a hundred elephants on the fingertip," for the true meaning of these words, no one can take them as an object or harm them. There, if the object of direct perception is harmed, then it is not the meaning of sound. Therefore, like this, language is not confused about its own meaning beyond the senses, and direct perception etc. are also not applicable, then how is it not a valid cognition? If so, it is reasonable, thus saying, the words that abide in appearance, and the object that is grasped by direct perception is not its own self-character, whatever is said like this is reasonable, however it is unreasonable, thus saying, is the meaning of however. Like showing meaningfulness in any way, like that even if it has been well established, even if it has been obtained, the combination of sound is only related to intention, therefore the application to meaning cannot be prevented by intention, because other languages are seen to express situations that do not match the meaning. Therefore, even if it is not harmed by valid cognition, the doubt that the meaning does not exist as it is will not recede. Whatever is said that the meaning that abides in appearance is the object of valid cognition is also unreasonable, if valid cognition is applicable, then in wisdom
