Therefore. It is said that the connection between sounds and meanings is not made by a person, nor is it its own nature. It is said like this. In order to eliminate the self-nature that is not made by a person, it is said that the nature of what can be specified and what cannot be specified, the acquisition and abandonment, that is, the other arising and decay of self-nature, if these contradictions do not exist, then there is nothing, that is, there is no confusion. Because it is not inverted. It is said like this: When the sound acquires the nature of being specifiable, it is acquiring another nature; when abandoning the nature of being unspecifiable, it is also abandoning another nature. How is the nature of being specifiable and unspecifiable acquired and abandoned? It is said, "It is always its nature." If it is always the nature of being specifiable, then sometimes there will be no specification; if the unspecifiable is constant, then sometimes there will be no unspecification, because of this reason, the nature of the other arising and decay of self-nature, such as specifiable and unspecifiable, has acquisition and abandonment, and so on. Someone thinks that even if it is the nature of being specifiable, It also depends on the co-acting causes and conditions, and sometimes there is no specification. If you think so, then it is said that the sound is constant, and it does not depend on other co-actors, because of the constant, the co-actor does not have the slightest effect on the nature of the sound. Someone thinks that even if its slight action is a dependent object, however, the sound produces other benefits from this. If it is not a separate action, it will become the action of the sound, and the constant itself cannot act. If you think so, then say: If it is another action, then it becomes the actor of another, how can it be said to be the sound? Because the connection is unreasonable, that is, it does not exist. Someone thinks that the thing to be relied on produces separate benefits, which is related to the sound. Therefore, because it is related to it, it produces benefits, so it is said to be its. If you think so, then say: Even if it is related to the benefit, even if it is related to the sound, but it has nothing to do with the benefit, the establishment, etc., what is the relationship?

There is no connection whatsoever between sound and benefit. This is what is being said: benefit does not help sound, and sound does not help benefit. If someone thinks that just as a cane and a banyan tree, although not benefactor and beneficiary, are the object of support and the supported, so too it can be the same here, and says that they are the object of support and the supported, then if sound or benefit itself has no benefit, then the object of support and the supported will not be established. The banyan tree, which has the nature of falling, is actually benefited by the cane's nature of approaching it. If it were not so, they would not be related. Similarly, sound must also benefit benefit. However, since it arises solely from something else, sound does not help, nor does it help sound. If someone thinks, 'Does it help sound, or does sound help it?', the explanation is: 'If the nature of benefit is other,' that is, if sound or the benefit produced by sound is different, then the refutation and examination are the same. Just as the connection between benefit and sound was initially refuted and examined, what connection is there between that benefit and sound? If one imagines another benefit for it, then it will lead to infinite regress. The word 'again' indicates another fault. If someone thinks that benefit does not benefit sound, because if they are admitted to be different, it would lead to infinite regress; and if they are not different, then sound would become the result itself. However, to dispel the doubt that sound arises together with other factors to produce benefit, the explanation is: 'If one admits that they are the producer and the produced,' then since there is no need to rely on other factors, the producer of sound and benefit would become permanent. If sound is capable of producing benefit, etc., then since a permanent thing cannot be changed by other things, it will produce benefit at all times. Therefore, since it produces knowledge by the benefit it has produced itself, it will lead to the same fault as before. If sound relies on something else to produce that benefit, then in that case, it relies on something else.
