It is not because of haste that one understands its meaning, but if one thinks it is due to the relationship between what is said and what can be said, that is not reasonable. For example, if something is not related to something else, then that thing cannot make one understand other things that are unrelated to it. Our thought is that the relationship between what is said and what can be said is not an entity, but a supposition. However, even through a supposed relationship, the purpose cannot be achieved, and the relationship of entities does not exist. Someone might think that all sounds do not originate from our scriptures, but are spoken by a credible person. Because it is spoken by a credible person, it is said that the one who sees the true state of affairs as they truly exist is the one who sees the true state of affairs as they truly exist. This is one quality of completely understanding things without inversion. The cause that shows the truth, such as other qualities like non-anger, are all included in the word "etc." The person who possesses these qualities is a credible person. A credible person is one who has eliminated faults, and faults refer to inverted cognition, etc. These faults are also abandoned through seeing things as they truly are, etc. The scripture spoken by seeing things as they truly are does not deceive the content to be spoken, therefore, our scripture is reliable. To refute the other party's doubt, it is said that the words spoken by such a person are the truth itself, which is exactly what we hope for. However, the words spoken by such a person are not the basis of our understanding, because such a special person who is the object of certainty cannot be known. Therefore, it is said: If that special person can be recognized, then for this reason, this is exactly what we hope for. If the special person cannot be definitively recognized, then how can the words not be the basis of understanding? It is said: Whatever has a state of prior conceptualization is one with prior conceptualization, which is synonymous with "definitely making one understand." Seeking all that is scripture or non-scripture is called... This is the... of worldly speech.

Therefore, in all places in the world, doubts arise regarding unfavorable aspects of manifest desires, such as good and non-good, gain and non-gain, all of which are considered unfavorable aspects. Similarly, although we seek the scriptures here, because they possess unfavorable aspects of manifest desires, they are called non-scriptures. Furthermore, seeking non-scriptures is also a form of seeking, as it allows us to clearly understand the objects to be abandoned. Those with discernment should not engage in meaningless pursuits. Those with discernment, who fully understand both scriptures and non-scriptures, do so out of necessity. However, fully understanding the scriptures has no other purpose than to engage with them. Therefore, here, the desire to engage is the reason for fully understanding the scriptures. If one were to fully understand them without seeking to engage with them for that reason, it would be unnecessary. If one were to fully understand them out of attachment, then those with discernment would not do so out of attachment. For those without discernment, the aspects of engagement are not to be examined. It is appropriate to engage only based on the certainty of qualities. If one were to engage without the certainty of qualities, then one would also engage based on the words of great individuals on the road. Therefore, the mind, which is an aspect of a person's engagement, should always grasp the scriptures that possess qualities, and not others. Similarly, one should grasp the certainty of qualities, and not others. The certainty of those qualities also changes based on the certainty of the qualities of the person. Therefore, one should first examine the person. If, after examining the person, one promises to engage based on what has become the cause, then one will certainly not engage. The logician said: Because such distinctions of persons cannot be known. If it is said that the knowledge based on the senses, without fully examining the qualities, is also seen as an aspect of engagement, then it is true. Whether it is sense consciousness or another form of discrimination, not fully examining the qualities is an aspect of a person's engagement, because without it, even the term itself would be unreasonable. Whoever does not know the certainty of qualities, but speaks of meanings beyond the senses, is an aspect of engagement.
