It is also like this. If that is the case, then non-existent things will also be fabricated as existent things such as flesh-eaters and then denied. If you ask, then it is on what can be fabricated that the fabrication is placed. If something can be fabricated, what is the meaning? It is that it is definitely cognizable. But flesh-eaters and the like are not like that. Even so, if there is a vase in this direction, it will definitely be cognizable. Even if there is a vase, it will not be cognizable because some factors are missing. It is on what does not doubt this situation that the fabrication is placed. If you ask, from where does the fabrication come? If that is the case, then when there is no lack of factors, it will be understood that if there is a vase, it can be cognized. But flesh-eaters and the like are not like that. If you ask, how do you know that there is no lack of factors? When some things are seen, whatever thing and consciousness merge into one, these two things that are definitely mixed together are the non-differentiated factors of cognition. Therefore, when a place and so on that merges into one consciousness is cognized, whatever vase that is definitely cognizable is what has a collection of cognitions and can be fabricated. Whatever vase is ascertained to rely on that place is what merges into one with that place and consciousness, and it does not exist in another place. Therefore, that thing can be fabricated. Therefore, merely cognizing another object that gathers into one consciousness. The vase that could possibly exist is not cognizable. Therefore, it is certain that it changes from what could possibly exist and becomes a non-cognizable that is a characteristic of cognition, and it does not change from other things. Therefore, merely cognizing another object that merges into one consciousness, which has become a characteristic of cognition, is obtained by reason as non-cognizable, and it is not ascertained merely by words. Precisely because of this, this characteristic is not stated, because the characteristic can be established by giving an example. If you follow that meaning, it will only become cumbersome. In order to explain that it is only through being able to merge into one consciousness that it is appearance, it is said: If vases and the like exist, then the appearance existence that is cognized will become like that, and not otherwise. The vase is that

Because of the establishment of inherent nature. An example of the reason of inherent nature is: This, named "this," is the subject. A tree, that which can be called a tree, is what should be established. Because it is a sal tree, named "tree shava," is what establishes it. In a place where there are many sal trees, a fool who knows the name of the sal tree knows that things with leaves, etc., are called trees, but does not understand that merely having leaves, etc., is the reason. Instead, he fabricates other perceived differences as the cause of the name. To the sal tree that has not seen the fabrication, the name of the tree is not applied. To this, how would you say that you previously applied the name of the tree only with the reason of having leaves, etc.? This is to recall the previously entered agreement. An example of the reason of effect is: Here, named "this," is the subject. There is fire, which is what should be established. There is smoke, which is the reason. Why is it threefold? If it is said that there is no difference, why is it three? Answer: That third reason, two of which are things, namely what should be established and what establishes, is understandable. One called "unavailable" is negation, which is understandable by the name of negation. This is said like this: In relation to what should be established, when reason is established, it is different because they are different. Also, the objects of establishment and negation contradict each other, so they are different, so there are two reasons. The meaning of establishment is both different and not different from the reason, so they are contradictory. From this, they are different, so there are two reasons. Therefore, in this way, because the objects are different, it becomes three reasons. If it is said that even though it is the third reason because the objects are contradictory, because it exists, it understands inherent nature, etc., and because it does not exist, it does not understand others, to show that inherent connection it is said: Inherent connection is the connection of inherent nature, which is the meaning of the nature of connection. If it exists, then in fact there is no confusion in establishing other things, and from not being confused, it is also what should be understood and what can be understood. Because, what is called "that" is because of what
