Because that is. If there is an object, then it will become different or non-different, but that is not the case, because all conceptualizations are objectless. If asked: How is it objectless? The answer is: The appearance of conceptualization, for what it considers to be its own object, does not follow it or go against it, because that is the reason. Not the self-nature of fire, etc., which is determined by the inferentialist, that will become its object, and that is also considered to be an external object. The appearance of inference does not follow the existence or non-existence of the external object, therefore, since it is not a determination of things, it is an object of existence or non-existence of things, therefore the consciousness of conceptualization is objectless. If the object to be grasped is a real thing, then its appearance will follow or go against the desired object, like direct perception. This is not the case, therefore it is objectless. Some people think that the appearance of conceptualization does not follow or go against the bright, because it is constant, so there is no confusion for the general appearance that depends on the bright. Moreover, since it is similar to the bright, it will surely be grasped as if it were the self-nature of the bright, therefore it will become an object, if you say so, the answer is that the general appearance cannot be said to be different from things, therefore it is objectless. If it can be established that the general appearance is different from the bright, then if the bright is not an object, the general appearance will become an object, but this is impossible, therefore, the one with the object of the general appearance is proved to be objectless. Moreover, the general appearance of the inferential appearance, although it exists, is not the meaning, just saying "not fire" does not mean that the inference is objectless, although the external object of the appearance exists, it is not the meaning of the self-nature of fire. In terms of its own nature, it is the meaning, and what is to be grasped is also that, and not other, therefore the object of inference will exist. Therefore, it is said that one's own appearance is not the meaning, because the reason for the external object

Because it is broken. It is also not external, because it does not follow its comings and goings. It is also not a generality, because it does not exist. Therefore, inference is without an object. The so-called two refers to the valid cognition of both direct perception and inference, whose object is the self-characteristic of things. From the sign of the nature of inference, one understands the general characteristic, while direct perception is the self-characteristic. Why is it said like this? Like this, what is grasped and obtained by both is only the self-characteristic, and the valid cognition of these also depends on what is grasped and obtained. If it is said like this, then why is only the self-characteristic mentioned here? In order to show that reason, it is said that the nature of not having the necessity of manifesting what is desired, that is the non-self-characteristic. The opposite of this is otherness. That itself is just a thing. That which is completely established is establishment, because of that reason, whatever sign has the object of generality, it is said like that. If the sign establishes the thing that returns from the non-self-characteristic, even if it is like that, that which returns from the non-self-characteristic itself is the difference of establishing the self-characteristic of the thing, therefore how can it be said to have the object of generality? The answer is, because the difference of otherness does not exist. Because that does not exist separately. It is said like this, here it is not that the self-characteristic is not established, but, whatever the nature of the separately determined self-characteristic, it cannot be definitely understood, because this that can function, this is its nature, not others, thus completely abandoning other natures, because the separately determined self-characteristic cannot be determined, so the difference does not exist. Whatever the nature of the thing that can function, there is no difference for all differences, therefore, because of holding the nature that can function, the object of inference is the self-characteristic. Whatever that is only like this, and not otherwise, it is impossible to definitely determine a nature that can function.
