The previous knowledge and the subsequent agreement are what one wants to prove, but not because of attachment. Attachment is clinging to meaningless things, while entering with reasoning is because it is necessary, not because of attachment. Therefore, merely showing what cannot be achieved, even through transmission, is not a factor in achieving the goal, and pursuing it is in vain. The object of entry is the non-deceptive showing, which through transmission becomes a factor in achieving the goal. In this way, entry arises from knowledge, and from entry, the achievement of the goal, which is in accordance with practice and realization, and thereby the goal is accomplished. Therefore, the essence of knowledge that shows the achievement of the goal is a factor in achieving the goal. Anything that is slightly pursued and analyzed is not a direct factor in achieving the goal, because directly achieving the goal is achieved through momentary analysis before entering. Therefore, the nature of knowledge that is to be explained, which has also become a factor in achieving the goal through transmission, that is, the showing that can achieve the goal, is precisely what is analyzed in the treatise. If, because it is determined to be the thing itself, what is to be grasped by inference is not the thing itself? The answer is: it is called the appearance of inference. If it is determined to be the thing itself, how is it not the thing? The answer is: it is called achieving the goal. The appearance that is determined to be the thing itself becomes the thing because it arises from the thing, like the appearance of direct perception. Or, if it itself becomes the thing by achieving the goal, then, merely because it arises from the thing, it is not the thing, because it itself has no result. The explanation for this is: even if the thing that can achieve the goal disappears, the appearance of inference will not disappear. It is explained that it itself is also not achieving the goal, because no burning or other goals are achieved from it. If the nature of knowledge itself is the thing that appears, then, just as it is determined to be fire, it cannot achieve the goal at all. The two reasons just put forward, even if they exist, are not the general meaning of existence.

Connected with 'no,' it means 'not being, that is, not being fire.' Because it is said to be unspeakable, although common existence is not temporary, however, even if it is allowed to exist, it is not, which is the meaning of the word 'also.' That is, even if things are reversed, the meaning of the characteristics such as dwelling and burning cannot be achieved from it at all. Why is it said to exist? Because it can generate its own knowledge. The accomplishment of fire is not to be done, therefore, it is said that inference by fire should not be the object of common existence. Therefore, the reason for saying 'therefore' is that the appearance of inference is not meaningful, and the observation with discrimination is the realm of things, therefore, just as it is shown that the nature of things that can function without deceiving, what is obtained is the measure of this inference, and not only the direct perception, which is the meaning of the word 'also.' This is an explanation of 'both measures are the realm of things.' Observation is the realm of what can function, because this reason is to establish that direct perception and inference are the realm of things. Precisely for this reason, in order to show that these are the same in the reason of being the realm of things as a measure, 'both' is said. If it is not so, it would be unreasonable to establish direct perception when observing the object of inference. Now, the definitive reason for inference is explained, that is, the thing related to that thing, the necessary relationship between things, that is the sign. Because others cannot understand, the sign is mentioned. Because it depends on that sign, the measure of inference is the realm of things. If the relationship is certain, it will not arise without its own characteristics, and if the recognition cannot be determined, the second recognition will not arise, the second recognition is inference, therefore, with its own nature and the things that arise from it, where the sign may have a relationship, that is what is determined by inference, is the object of the knowledge of inference.
