If you want to do it, then why not say that inference is based on the appearance of things without error? It is explained that for inference, the appearance itself does not have the meaning of being able to function, because what can function is the appearance, which is not the case elsewhere that is obvious, because a clear appearance is seen, that is, because it is grasped. This is what is being said: it is impossible for one thing to have two mutually contradictory states at the same time. If any one state is held, then the state of inference will not become a thing, because nothing can be accomplished from it. The state of a thing is something that is obviously completely excluded, because things can be accomplished from it, so it is true. In order to show the standard of measurement, the two verses "What is a thing" etc. are spoken. "What is a thing, how is it" can be understood from holding the state of fire etc., and contrary to permanent things, it is the impermanence of being in a state. That is understood through special attachment, and such a sign is the mind, which is the cause of unerringly holding what is to be proven. Therefore, for the cause and nature of the object of special attachment, the wisdom with a sign, that is, the knowledge of inference, arises from the mind of the sign. The word "of" like this means "because of what", and it is also said "therefore", so it is related like this: because the wisdom of the sign and the one with the sign arises in such a sequence, it is transmitted in that way. Through transmission, both are related to the meaning to be proven. Because therefore it is the order of arising, both are related to the thing to be proven through transmission. Because of the cause related to the object of the wisdom of the sign and the one with the sign. What appears there in the thing, what is indicated is also not deception, because these arise in that way, so it is related to the thing through transmission, and being related, even if the appearance of the thing is empty, it will not deceive, therefore it is a standard of measurement. If like the thing that is held

If obtaining non-deception, then is that determined by the knowledge of reason a reason? If so, how does the wisdom of reason not deceive the meaning to be proven? Furthermore, when it is said that the object of the wisdom of reason is not deceptive in this way, then what is the use of saying that the wisdom of reason is not deceptive? It is unreasonable in this way, because not mistakenly grasping what is to be proven is what should be considered the knowledge of reason, and also, just as it is the object of reason, it is also the reason for the existence of reason, the possessor of the reason for the fact to be proven. Therefore, the knowledge of reason is only the non-deceptive object, the certainty to be proven. Understanding the reason without deception is because if there is no certainty, there will be none. Because non-deceptive knowledge is non-deceptive, the knowledge that precedes it is also non-deceptive, like this, if there is an error in grasping something that would not arise without it, then it is impossible for the knowledge to be inferred that precedes it to be non-erroneous. Therefore, the reason itself is the cause, and in order to show that the fire is not deceptive, so the inference is without error, so it is said that the knowledge of reason is also non-deceptive for things. For what reason does the reason itself become a thing? Because knowledge is not directly produced from the thing of reason, therefore, in order to grasp without deception, it is necessary to understand through reason. Although all discriminations with the appearance of the apprehended, produced by the habits of experiencing things, are related to things, the reason related to things, if not seen, does not arise, this connection with non-common things is said to be the cause of the measure of inference. If it is non-deceptive, then how can it be established as an error? Therefore it is said: It is not itself a deceiver, even if it is non-deceptive, the wisdom of reason is established as an error. How is it an error? Because its nature is emptiness. If, like blue knowledge being empty of yellow, that is not an error, because there is no attachment to yellow.
