Just as with visible objects, the ascertainment of hidden matters is clinging to the nature of generality. Furthermore, if the object of entry is said to be ascertained, and because ascertainment is also an object of generality. If direct perception, in relation to the object of entry, is indeed an object of generality, even so, because the clinging that arises after direct perception makes that thing an object devoid of its own nature by another continuum. However, the ascertainment of inference cannot establish the characteristic of oneself, which has become the object of entry, as a distinct self that is different from another continuum, because at the time of grasping the connection, it enters based on the nature similar to the visible object. Therefore, when one's own characteristic is also placed close to the object of entry, it is certain that the difference that is different from others and not shared with others cannot be established. Therefore, inference is also an object of generality in relation to the object of entry. Direct perception is also an object of difference in relation to ascertainment. Because the object is ascertained as the difference without another continuum. Here, it is not an object of generality or an object of difference in relation to what is to be grasped, because that is not the occasion. Even if one's own characteristic is the object, the sign is said to be an object of generality, because there is no difference. Because it will be explained in this way. Inference that understands hidden matters in this way of generality, therefore, it is said that there is no other valid cognition, because understanding things in the way of generality is also inference. Therefore, only two valid cognitions are valid cognitions. If someone thinks that even if such understanding is inference, other aspects will become other valid cognitions, then (the answer is) it is impossible to understand in other cases. Because in other cases, it is impossible to understand hidden matters without error. The meaning is that because there are only two kinds of things, namely manifest and hidden. The manifest is understood by its own appearance, not in other ways, and that is not the valid cognition of direct perception.

Yes. Hidden things are also realized by following the signs. Conceptualization that does not rely on signs is merely doubt, so its object cannot be obtained either. Because there is no nature of both, it has been said. Realizing in the manner of following is also inference. Therefore, for other consciousnesses, there is no object to be obtained. Even if it is valid cognition, there is no other object, so it is not an unestablished reason. The object of direct perception and inference is also only its own nature. How can there be other valid cognitions? Isn't there also a different kind of realization from sound, etc.? If it is said that realization from sound is also included in inference, that is unreasonable. Because inference relies on signs with three aspects. To show that unerringly realizing the hidden meaning from sounds with forward and reverse concomitance is another valid cognition, it is said, "its," etc. "Its" is an unbearable word. Whatever says that the realization of sound is included in inference is unbearable. Because the relationship of forward and reverse concomitance is only the characteristic of a sign, it is not its nature, but there is another reason, which is to prevent determination, not to say that the relationship is not the characteristic of a sign. What is that other nature? It is said to be a subject possessing the object of apprehension, that is, the subject that is the basis of the properties to be proven and the properties that prove it, where the sign exists. "Seeing" means that the object of seeing shows that the object exists. Seeing, that is, the existence itself that is the object of valid cognition, is a part of the proof, so that it must be realized in any case. That is because it does not exist in sounds, and even if it has been reversed, it is only realized from these two ways. Again, how can there be no pervasive nature? Because if a person is a subject, then he only has sound, but no meaning.
