Yes, direct perception is. For the senses, etc., in which two aspects appear separately and are unrelated, it is not. The nature that is the opposite of non-blue is direct perception, but momentariness is not. The nature by which appearance is determined, the nature of meaning, that is direct perception, because determination is related to it. Momentariness is not a determined appearance. What is to be obtained must also be determined here by examining the object of entry itself, and the object of entry is also determined. Although momentariness has already appeared in things, it is not determined. Therefore, it must be determined by other valid cognitions. Although the characteristics of the nature of a mirage can be grasped, it is not a direct perception of a mirage because it cannot be determined as the nature of a mirage in the appearance of knowledge. Other similar situations should also be understood. This direct perception of following and reversing appearance also depends on the one who realizes it. The meaning of the appearance that follows and reverses the realization by the nature of knowledge, the way of realization is like this, there is no other. For the knowledge of appearance following and reversing meaning, everything is also direct perception, because what is to be measured is direct perception. Therefore, things that become the object of many valid cognitions are not realized in many ways in the meaning of direct perception. Mentioning appearance is to dispel the meaning that all causes of knowledge are direct perception. If appearance is not mentioned, then whatever follows and reverses any knowledge is direct perception, therefore, the senses, etc., will become direct perception itself. If appearance is mentioned, then it will depend on the difference of knowledge, and the difference is also the co-emergent that depends on knowledge, which is different for each. The difference in the characteristics of appearance also comes only from the object, not from the senses and what immediately follows. Similarly, if knowledge is not mentioned, then the reason for examining something that is slightly similar will be said to be direct perception, and it is also thought that the one with a similar reason who abides in knowledge is also direct perception. If things are reversed,

Because I do not revert to the appearance of reality in the state of distinction. Is it not the case that there is no appearance of knowledge that follows reversion and following? When the reality is near, the appearance of abiding in non-conceptual knowledge, when seeing and saying "this is blue," at the very moment when the aspect of what is done arises, one definitely experiences the blue itself. Therefore, the aspects of abiding in non-conceptual and conceptual knowledge, which are determined as the blue itself, are the same. Even if they are the same, it is because of being deluded about reality. How can one doubt that reality or knowledge is itself manifest, based on the very act of following and reverting? That is the unique nature of reality, it is said. The meaning is that if one clings to those as being non-different, then they are not one. Because the appearance of abiding in non-conceptual knowledge is experienced as a unique nature. Thus, in the four vases, there is no difference as the vase itself. Because on each vase, the appearance is correctly known as distinct. The appearance of the object of distinction is determined as the commonality for many realities. Even on one blue object, when examining vases and so on, the appearance of distinction is from the commonality of many occasions. The appearance of the manifest is unique. Therefore, those are distinct by the very object of common and unique. By appearing as a unique object, the reality that follows and enters after reverting and following is manifest. If it is not the nature of that object, appearing as commonality, then following reality, because it does not follow reversion, in other appearances, knowing that there is no following and acting after reversion, it is not. The nature of the unique reality is also considered manifest. Examining the unique is not. Thinking thus, if by common and unique itself, appearances are distinguished as separate, then for one reality itself, by the difference of near and far, the knowledge of two viewers appears as the difference of clear and unclear.
