It is pervasive. Therefore, whatever does not possess an object is not valid cognition, just like a lotus in the sky. The assertion that knowledge other than direct perception and inference also does not possess an object is not pervasive. Similarly, the divisions of valid cognition are based on the divisions of objects, because the divisions of valid cognition are reasoned; if there were no reason, it would be too broad. Since other reasons are also unreasonable, the opponent also agrees that valid cognitions depend on the divisions of objects. Because of dependence on objects, it is either valid cognition or not valid cognition. It is only by dependence on objects that they can be distinguished. Therefore, the reason for the divisions of valid cognition is only the division of objects, and therefore it is pervaded by its divisions. Therefore, whatever does not have an object different from the objects of direct perception and inference is not a valid cognition other than those, just as direct perception and inference themselves are different from other direct perceptions and inferences, or like erroneous knowledge. For valid cognition, there is also no object of measurement different from the meaning to be measured by direct perception and inference, which itself is the non-observation of pervasion. The reason is not unestablished, because here it is not the case that the object is taken as independent, because there is no object of inference. The object of entering is also existent and non-existent. Among them, that which is existent and can be obtained is considered to be the object that is close to pervading valid cognition. Non-observation also does not establish non-existence, but rather shows that which can be obtained, encompassed by places and so forth that are empty of what is to be negated. Establishing the term 'non-existence' is also the object to be obtained, because it is capable of being termed. Whatever is not direct perception, that is, the meaning of an object that can be obtained but is not direct perception, is in a similar nature, in an example, understood through a sign that follows in common with seeing, and this also changes from other explanations. Because of understanding, this is the reason, because the meaning that is not direct perception is understood in one way, in a general way, and this is also following.

What is it measured by? Therefore, since there is no other object, the valid cognition of an object is also not other. Therefore, since the thesis is established, there are only two valid cognitions. If someone thinks like this: Even so, what things are cognized in various ways, that is another object, and the object-possessor of another is also a valid cognition. If you doubt this, then there are only two kinds of things, namely manifest and hidden. This is what it says: Manifest and non-manifest are mutually exclusive, therefore, the thing other than non-manifest is manifest itself. Whatever is slightly non-manifest is not the object of valid cognition itself, however, in order to show that it is a hidden thing that can function, it is said that the meaning of the word non-manifest is hidden. The sutra says that whatever is non-manifest is manifest itself, in order to explain that they are mutually exclusive, so it is said non-manifest. If someone doubts that what is cognized in various ways, whatever is manifest itself, there will be an opportunity for other valid cognitions. In order to clearly show the aspect of the grasping of the manifest, it is said "for it". What is the meaning of being able to recognize what is in accordance with and contrary to the appearance of knowledge itself, that is manifest. Here, only the things of cause and effect, in accordance with the existence and non-existence of the appearance of knowledge, only in this way can it be recognized. Connecting the word "in accordance", stating the meaning of the agent, even if there are many causes, but in order to recognize in any way that which is individually manifested under the control of others, that is manifest. The connection of being under the control of others, even if there are roots etc., it will not arise, if the thing exists it will arise, therefore only its existence will arise, the individual manifestation depends on it, not on the roots etc. For this very reason, from the thing, it is the same as that, so it is said that it is done by the thing. Because of clinging to the nature of the thing, it is also related to being placed on the side of the thing, therefore
