Because it is the one who makes distinctions, therefore, even that is eliminated, and in order to establish only appearance as the one who makes distinctions, reversing the order shown, the word "also" is spoken, thereby making an analysis. Not only are the eye and so on not valid means of cognition alone, but also, like appearance, contact that differs for each object is not a valid means of cognition. With all self, that object from what and what is different self, from that object and that different nature self contact, that is, that object is connected with the sense power. Because contact is the connection of the sense power and the object, the nature of that which has become contact, that is, only knowing some nature with different reasons, therefore. Thus, a valid means of cognition is the reason for knowing the object. If contact is the reason for knowing the object, then, when contacting an object that is different from everything, if a cognition arises that has all different objects, it is not like that either. Therefore, from what reason contact has no difference, it must also become a definite dharma, that itself is reasonable to become a valid means of cognition, because it is not cut off by other different reasons, the one who can make distinctions is the one who can establish. Contact that object all self has no difference, also know object definite self difference, this is this, established by experience, is made by the appearance of the mind is the same as the object, therefore, can make establishment, is interrupted by other actions, that itself is reasonable to become a valid means of cognition. As the contact that depends on the nature of things has no difference to all self, so the appearance of direct perception also depends on that thing, therefore, is it not common to all self? Thus, for example, direct perception follows the blueness of that object, similarly, it is also momentary, therefore, because it is common, it is not the reason for definitely knowing different differences, why say made by the aspect of the mind? Although it is true, however, sensation is the object of experience, therefore, from experiencing blue and experiencing yellow nature has no difference, then experience will certainly not become different.

Oh, this word is certain. However, the statement that all differences in experience come from this is not certain. Because, experiences arising from other causes may or may not become certain. Among these, the experience of appearance relies on conditions such as clarity to generate certainty in oneself. And the certainty of appearance is also established to understand the distinctions of things. For example, the completely certain cognition of the apprehended aspect, such as seeing "this is blue," is the understanding of the meaning of blue. Therefore, the experience of appearance is the fundamental cause for understanding the certain object, relying on the condition of certainty. If the encounter together with the condition of certainty becomes valid cognition, then the certainty of the encounter is not established in that way for understanding the object. The certainty arising from the encounter is not the certainty of the object. Because the encounter is dependent, how can one grasp it without grasping the one on which it depends? Just as one cannot grasp the one with a cane without grasping the cane, the dependence distinguished by the one on which it depends cannot be grasped without the one on which it depends. Therefore, the certainty of dependence relies on grasping the one on which it depends beforehand. And the certainty of the one on which it depends cannot be established without a cause, so without it, there is no certainty of its particular dependence. Even if there is a generality of things and an encounter, if it is certain that it is an encounter with the nature of generality, then it is the cause that determines that it is an encounter with a particular thing from some other reasons, and not the encounter itself. Not only is the establishment of things not the certainty of the encounter, but the encounter is also not the cause of its arising. Because, if it is certain that it is an encounter with the nature of generality, it is impossible to understand the particularity. Moreover, the certainty of encountering the particularity is also based on the prior understanding of the particularity of things. And the understanding of the particularity of things cannot be established without a cause. If a certain certainty makes things certain, then it is an experience, and it is called the cause of establishment relying on the condition of certainty. Therefore, the encounter is not a valid cognition for establishing the understanding of particular things relying on the condition of certainty. Again
