It transforms, meaning that it will become the words that prove it. The so-called "not being confused by the dharma of the sign" means following. The so-called "showing on the subject of dharma" means not considering the subject of dharma to be proven, but rather, on other examples of subjects of dharma, to vigorously show only the connection related to dharma. Therefore, what is done through complete establishment is that, by showing the sign of the connection related only to dharma, it is completely established on the subject of dharma to be proven. It should also be understood as being present in the subject of dharma. Therefore, on those signs, it should also be understood that on that established subject of dharma, the pervasive dharma is also present. The so-called "said" refers to Master Dignāga. Just as fire and other accompanying things become the means of proof, existence in the self and others is not without fault, that is, not without defects. In order to refute the other party and then answer the accusations of one's own party, it is said, "Because the difference is not completely applied." Because the difference is not completely applied, that is, only existence. The so-called "only a thing" means only impermanence. The so-called "means of proof" means only the pervasive one, and existence established through pervasiveness. If it is said that if the difference of the existence of sound is not grasped, how can it be established on sound? To this, it is said, "To this, grasping the difference is not certain," that is, the accompanying of the existence of sound is not certain, because it can also be done by relying on the accompanying of only existence, even without difference, it is possible to establish what is desired on the subject of dharma to be proven, for example, only existence is established through the difference of only impermanence, because that existence with pervasiveness, no matter on which subject of dharma, is stated as a homogeneous dharma, therefore, the dharma that one pervades, impermanence is also present on that subject of dharma, therefore it can be understood. If existence itself is to be proven, then for the accompanying without difference, because only existence has already been established, measuring signs and so on has no result. The so-called "furthermore" is to summarize the faults. The so-called "how does it exist in unestablished existence" means that the self and others have never established existence, how can the sign of its own nature exist on it? Self and others

If some characteristics of inherent nature are established as a sign, then since its inherent nature is established, why would one not accept that the chief and others are that very nature, since they are not different? If inherent nature itself is the object to be proven by the sign, then how can there be a distinction between the sign and the object possessing the sign? Even if it is one's own nature, it is still shown as if different by relying on some aspects that exclude other distinctions, like showing that a dharma is different from a possessor of dharma. The words 'dharma' and 'possessor of dharma' are the same, but the meaning of the words is different. What is to be expressed is that their basis is the external meaning. This is showing that there is no sign of inherent nature. It should be understood through implication that the result is also impossible, because the chief and others are not established in the desired distinctions, so their result will not be established even a little. 'Not relying on things' means not applying to non-existent things. If it is said that even if it is a negation of non-existence, it still applies to things, then it is stated that the negation is not non-existence. Then how is that? It is the negation of absence, that is, the absence that is merely the opposite of all the qualities of a thing. The reason is inferred from the existence established by conceptual thought. That is also not contradictory, and how is that? For example, saying 'bodiless' means that bodilessness itself is non-existent, and it also applies to nothing at all. The word 'also' indicates that it also applies to existent things such as the mind. Therefore, both qualities are mistaken. When explaining that it applies with the word 'negation of absence,' the explainer says, 'Because non-existence does not exist, because there is no basis, it is not an object of negation.' That is to say that non-existence is not an object of negation. Now, 'how is that' means that non-existence is not the object to be proven. If it is said that even through mere non-existence, it can become an object of negation, then how is that? Because the definition of negation is simply the opposite of establishment. Or, if it is said that even through not being a mode of establishment, it can become an object of negation, then how is that? It is said that the definition of negation is simply the opposite of obscuration, definition and object, etc.
