Refutations and so on are here. (If) the thing itself is or is not, what appears when conceptually thinking about the meaning of the sound of the mind is attention. Why is it that only the thing itself is attended to? Because it is related to the production of results. It is said that only the thing itself produces results, and having conceptual thought, it is also only the conceptual thought of accepting and rejecting the existing result. It is also because it cannot be correctly conceptualized in that way, it is caused by conceptual thought. All of these are, referring to all those who have conceptual thought. It has been said, referring to the logician Dignāga. It has already been said, referring to the second chapter. The Samkhyas think that the chief existent itself is to establish that generality, therefore, it is said that existence itself is the reason. It is said that because it exists, it is impermanent. How can the general existence not be what is to be established? It will become what is to be established. If it is said that the differences of permanence, obscurity, and production do not follow along, does it mean that the example is not established? The reason and what is to be established are contradictory. Your reason, "because it is made, it is impermanent," also becomes the impermanence of sound, but it is not on the pot, and the sign is the same as it. If it is like this difference, from "saying" to "has been said," it is explaining the part where the difference does not follow along. The valid cognition is because the object cannot be known, it means that the difference is not established by the valid cognition. It has been said, referring to the logician Dignāga. The reason is also because it is existent, it means that if it depends on the difference, the existence that has become a pot is also not in the example. What is to be established by the difference is not only with faults, it means with the difference of existence, the chief existence is the nature of the general, and permanence and production, or the independent existence is permanence and happiness and following along, and being cut off by cessation, etc., if it is established with difference, not only is there the fault of not following along, but also if existence is taken as the reason, there is the same fault of not following along. Because the existence that has become a pot is not on the sound, it is not established, and the one that has become sound

Because the 'existence' of the proposition is not in the example. 'Without this fault' means it is the same. 'Merely taking existence' means abandoning the distinctions such as permanence and origination. 'Some meanings cannot be established' means your intention or the meaning that has not been understood. Merely existence, we also do not negate merely existence. 'Because it is said without fully combining any distinction' means the existence that combines any distinction such as independence and origination, and permanence. 'If that existence is the proof, then only the distinction is to be proven' means that otherwise it becomes a meaningless reason. 'Other can also be' means that even if one accepts the existence of Ishvara (Great自在天), it is necessary to establish his nature with independence, happiness, giver, etc. 'With that, one can establish his nature' means that the reason that establishes the distinction, or the speaker, is the nature of Ishvara etc. 'There is no concomitance' means that like this, no valid cognition has ever seen it, therefore if one thinks of a qualified object as having a distinction by means of a subject with a distinction, it means if one establishes 'there is fire on the mountain'. 'Like this, it is not possible to make a distinction with that subject' means that establishing 'there is fire on the mountain' is not possible. 'Then what is it?' The distinction is the elimination of the non-possessor, meaning 'this has fire', it is the elimination of the non-possessor of fire, this has already been explained in the second chapter. 'For this, only the general' means that for the subject, only the general fire, that is, the possession that is not differentiated into parts, is established. 'Because it is not in any place, the absence of distinction is' means that for the subject that is intended as an example, permanence, happiness, and independence have not been established by valid cognition in any place, therefore there is no concomitance with possessing such distinctions. 'If how is it not?', means how is there no concomitance? If one says that existence is knowable etc., if that is the case, then knowable etc. have concomitance. 'What will be established?', means that knowable etc. have already been established, and the meaning is that establishing that is not your intention either. The appearance of the discriminating mind to the meaning
