The reason for saying "its own nature is not lost" is that it cannot obstruct that ability, because the nature of the ability has already been established. If it could obstruct, then it would not be the nature of the ability. The reason for saying "its own nature is not lost" is that even when obstructing, the nature of the ability is not lost, because the nature of things, that is, once the ability is established, it cannot be changed. If even impermanent things cannot change their established nature, how can permanent dharmas change? "Again" refers to another distinction, the so-called "nature of a moment" refers to impermanent things like vases. Even if they are mutually crushed, the proximate cause of a vase will not produce another moment of the vase's nature that does not produce simultaneous knowledge. Therefore, obscurations fragment the nature. "Other" means if one cannot produce a distinction from a distinction. "If it does not produce even a little," means if it does not produce a distinction simultaneously with vases, etc. In this way, obstruction becomes permanent because it does not produce obstruction. Permanent things do not change in that way because obstruction is permanent. There is no such thing, because knowledge sometimes apprehends. The phrase "therefore it is understood to have distinctions" refers to obstruction. "The distinction obtained from that thing" refers to the distinction obtained from the thing that produces simultaneously. It is said that the fruit of the nature is approached and produced. Do it! It means that what you yourself consider to be permanent will disappear. If it produces a little fruit, then that sound is the previous one, that is, the nature that has not produced benefit. "Certain" refers to the permanent. "Does not change" means does not exist. If the benefit of the thing that produces simultaneously is something other than the sound, then it is said "that benefit is another thing" and so on. Among them, "again" refers to the arising of knowledge from that other thing of benefit. The phrase "that knowledge will not become knowledge" means that that sound will not be known by that knowledge, because it is related to the benefit other than the sound, and not to the sound itself. It should be combined with "does not need to rely on the senses or proximate causes to produce simultaneously." "I" refers to...

The distinction of purity itself, that is, the distinction that is different from its own nature, because it does not produce a distinction on the permanent dharma, and it is also impossible to be different from itself. Furthermore, "others are also possible" refers to those that are different from the previous ones, such as the diligence of the purusha. "By all" refers to the senses and so on. "By those" refers to those who say that sound itself should not be closely combined. "Sound or sense" means that it is not just sound, but the senses and so on benefit by diligence and so on. "In order to combine together and approach" means that the senses made by benefit will combine the sound together and approach, if they are not combined, the senses are not necessary. "Will constantly become the object" means that the cause of consciousness, the ability, has no arising or ceasing. Why is there no arising or ceasing? It is said, "If so," and so on. Sound is considered a permanent dharma, and if it does not obtain ability from anything or does not diminish, it will become a permanent dharma. If ability is something different from sound, then it is said, "The ability to produce consciousness," and so on. "Meaningless" means that sound is permanent and does not depend on others. The fault of other things is as previously stated, because other things are related to consciousness, but sound is not sound, so that sound is not known by consciousness. Either there is no effort, or the effort is completed and interrupted. Sometimes there is no object of sound either. "Therefore" means because it has two objects. "From its own nature" refers to the nature of sound itself. "Perhaps there is some benefit" refers to diligence. "In order to see the dharma of the cause" refers to the concomitance and contradiction just mentioned. If so, because of the concomitance and contradiction with diligence, it will become impermanent, but not because of consciousness, then it is said, "Immediately after diligence is consciousness," and so on, because there is consciousness that arises immediately after diligence, so it is taken as a sign, but not just consciousness. That is also the meaning of the consciousness that arises immediately after diligence and is focused on sound. That is also the same as sound arises immediately after diligence, so does consciousness. "The certainty of what existed before is the name."
