The action is that both commitments cause harm, which is the same. The so-called "said the same" refers to the teacher Dignāga. The so-called "there is no valid cognition and the object to be measured by it" refers to the Vedic system. One's own words are not reasonable, if one's own words do not deceive the meaning, then it is valid cognition, and if it is not valid cognition, then the words have no meaning. Treatises are also unreasonable if they are not valid cognition, because there is no doubt. The so-called "to that" means that valid cognition and what is to be measured by it are meaningless, which should be exemplified. Here, the subject of dharma is dharma. That establishment is because it relies on that treatise, and if it harms that treatise, then the basis of the dharma established by it does not remain, because there is no basis for thinking about the distinctions such as bestowing great bliss, because it is not allowed, because it is famous from the treatise, for such differential thinking, it is necessary to regard the treatise as valid cognition. Now, how is it like steps down to the water? The so-called "outsiders," if it is a fault to contradict the treatise, then Buddhists, bathing on the steps down to the water will not purify non-dharma, which contradicts what is said in many treatises that bathing cannot purify non-dharma, this is what they say. Making the unseen understandable is solely making the kalpa understandable. The so-called "all" means that Buddhist treatises do not say that. There is no fault of prohibition, because it does not contradict one's own treatise. The so-called "other" means that there is no contradiction with other treatises, which is to be shown. The so-called "also to that" refers to the treatise promised by others. The so-called "because of speaking and thinking" means that because it is not promised as valid cognition, there is no contradiction with those, that is its meaning. Then which treatise does it contradict? It says "which treatise" etc., because it is held by that treatise, because it holds the meanings shown by it, it contradicts it, it is not another thought, that is its meaning. The so-called "treatise remains" means promising it. The so-called "things that do not rely on it" refers to what is shown by the treatise.
