Because on the wall, duality is not established by the body of the nature of mind, because there is doubt that the body itself is the mind. Therefore, for the vase, with the body that appears as mind, it cannot be established by the reason of doubting duality. The so-called "contradiction" is what was said before. Therefore, the body and the vase as two are impossible. In this way, how can a general characteristic without difference in substance be established? For example, mentioning "Devadatta" etc., if both things can be eaten, then it is reasonable to say generally "any one". If neither thing is desired to be eaten, then saying "eat any one" means "eat one". If it is said that "only Devadatta is not to be eaten", merely thinking that this dharma is negated on Devadatta, saying "eat any one" is without fault. If it is said like this, it will fall into the fault of grasping one, because it will become the time of thinking about the dharma of one thing. Because there is no time to become the undesired situation, because this is the state of thinking about multiple dualities. The so-called "this is the object of discrimination" means that because this is the object of discrimination from either of the two, it will not fall into the fault of thinking about the dharma of one thing. The so-called "there" refers to the object of discrimination there. If it is said that "the vase is not two, and the body with such differences is also not two", this is not desired, because it is not reasonable, if both are impossible, there is no object of discrimination. That is, temporarily eliminating the discrimination of "only one is not to be eaten", if it is said that "eat any one from Devadatta and Yajnadatta", meaning "only one is to be eaten", even if it is established like this, it is unreasonable, because for one of the two, duality is impossible, if establishing one with duality, it is also grasped by discrimination. If asked "is this or this duality?", then it is unreasonable to say "any one is duality". In this way, because one's own intention cannot be followed, it cannot be established, and the general characteristic cannot be without difference, so it is not solely negating and establishing.

Since it cannot be established through reasoning, what can this reason, "because it is not an উৎপལ་ (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思:乌 উৎপལ་,utpala, blue lotus)," establish? Regarding "because it is any one of the subject-property or similar-property," there is also the absence of pervasion, and the assertion that determining it as one is also unreasonable is thoroughly elaborated. How so? Because space and pots, etc., are similar properties, but since there is no subject-property or similar-property, and because of the reason of being selfless, saying "any one" lacks pervasion. If it is said that the subject-property or similar-property is one, and the other cannot exist, even if one holds that, the term "any one" is unreasonable, this is said for the sake of refutation. Furthermore, if the reason is not established or there is no substance, then generally it is not acceptable. How is it that the general and the reason are not established? If there is no contradiction in the existence of both, then those subject-properties and similar-properties, thus saying "any one" will change. Such existence is impossible, like this, "any one" refers to the similar-property pot or space, if it becomes other, then the reason is established in the subject-property, like the distinction of sound being permanent or impermanent. What is to be established is that sound is any one of the subject-property and similar-property, this is not the nature of the general. Distinguishing is saying "this or that is acceptable," it is a general statement, but the nature of sound is individually determined, because it only exists in the subject-property and not the similar-property, therefore individual determination and non-determination are contradictory. If one does not accept individual determination, then one will have to abandon non-determination. Thus, it is impossible for sound to be a similar-property, so the reason is not established. Even its similar-property is the subject-property, so there is no pervasion, but that has been said before, because it has been understood, so it is not mentioned here. For the individual determination of subject-properties and similar-properties, the general is impossible, so the general is not established. Thus, after showing what comes along the way, the main point is explained, if it is said that the wall is generally any one, therefore it is dualistic, then it will become dualistic.
