Moreover, that thing is nothing at all. Because things do not perish, they remain as they are. Since it is not it and not it, other things are also impossible. Because it does not depend on others, this destruction is not its own nature, but arises from its own source, the cause itself, or it is its own nature, that is, its own essence. What is called a thing is just a thing. This "by" refers to destruction. The other "also" refers to those that have changed from manifest to other, that is, to those that are hidden as well. The so-called "nature" is just the nature of a thing that does not depend on anything. The so-called "change" refers to impermanence. The independence of that destruction refers to seeing a pot eventually become something. Similarly, the destruction other than the seen object is also the same independent nature, because there is no difference. As it is, not depending on other causes, the validity of this establishes oneself and the relationship, and so do other reasonings of nature, such as "the tree is a sal tree because it is a sal tree," which is proved by perception and non-apprehension. And "because it is different due to the difference of causes, therefore it is made" is also proved by perception and non-apprehension, and so on, like one's own validity! That very perception is one's own essence, meaning that destruction itself is directly the essence of the reasoning, and if it is not so, then existence or what is made, since there is no impermanence, destruction will not become the dharma of things. If destruction itself is nothing, then for nothing, destruction itself is impossible, and it cannot be done by cause, which has already been said. If other dharmas are reasoning, then how are it and it its dharmas? The so-called "doing" is examined from the way of definite words, and because of holding, it is called dharma, that is, holding one's own characteristics. Therefore, it is considered unreasonable for others. Because it relies on it in the way of fame, it is also called dharmata, because it relies on it, so it is said. Others think that because the cause, firewood, and clay arise simultaneously, there is no producer and nothing to be produced, so they think there are dependent and independent things.

If it is said that smoke depends on fire, how does it become the object of cause and effect? Thus one asks. The teacher said, because of that very thing, because of that very cause and effect, it is the dependent and the depended upon. Otherwise, without benefit and the ability to benefit, the dependent and the depended upon cannot be established. Likewise, the nature of the cause, the tree not falling, is made by the pot, otherwise it is unreasonable. The cause of smoke, fire, also depends on that direction, so the direction is the cause of smoke through transmission. All that needs to be understood is the unclear and coarse, etc., understood through smoke. All that needs to be understood is gray and substance, etc., understood through fire. Even without the clear and coarse, etc., just the unclear, and the smoke produced by the work of wood, because those clear, etc., are not necessarily produced, it is considered not to be understood. Moreover, those gray and substance, etc., are not necessarily produced from that fire, because they may also be produced from walls and water, etc., those are also not understood, it is also considered so. The nature of the cause is burning, and if there is no nature of wood changing to produce smoke, it will not be produced. The nature of making the eyes blurry, harming the secret place, making it black, and rising upwards is the result, and those are the reasons for understanding, because it is certain that it is the result. Just being gray is uncertain. The dharma of cause and effect, burning and wood changing, and making smoke, making the eyes blurry, making it rough, etc., those are also the dharma of that very cause and effect, as their own nature, that is, those that are not different from them, and not existing separately. For the indivisible nature of fire and smoke, it is not producing the bright part of the fire, nor is it producing the substance of the smoke itself, and if it is produced and can be produced by parts, there will be faults. If it is produced by it, if one grasps the difference of the smoke produced by the coarse fire, because one wants to understand,
