The dharma does not exist in sound, because the sound of the Vedas does not rely on anything, and it is also believed that the sound of the attribute of space does not rely on the dharma-holder to be expressed. However, it does make one realize its meaning. Therefore, it is thought that this is another valid means of cognition. The answer is "If that is so," and so on. If that is so, even if it does not exist on the dharma-holder who possesses the dharma to be grasped. That "that" refers to sound. That "that" refers to the dharma-holder who wants to be grasped. If it has not been seen, then how can not having seen prove the desire for that dharma-holder, or how can it prevent things that contradict it? If it has been seen before, sound can make one remember. The answer is that even without sound and signs, one can remember through the mind's focus. If there is a difference between the memory caused by sound and the memory caused by focus, then it is said in the sutra, "In these cases," meaning that there is no difference. Because it is not established on the dharma-holder that one wants to grasp, how can this sound be established for some dharma-holders? It means that it is not a valid means of cognition. That "those" refers to sounds. Why? Because the connection between that sound and those meanings is not established. This will be explained below. Because there is a connection with what one wants to express. If that is so, then it is the sign of the result. If "If that is so," and so on, then it is like alder and so on. Because there is "if it exists," and there are other valid means of cognition, namely "reason" and "non-appearance," it is believed that this will harm both. "If it exists" can prove production, and "non-appearance" can prove non-existence. Those are not direct perception, because others understand others. Nor is it inference, because there is no concomitance. It has been explained that there is no concomitance. It is said in the sutra, "There is no example here." In order to show that there is no example, because there is no other proof, the proof is different from "if it exists" and "non-appearance." Even if it is established by other examples, because it is similar to the previous example, other examples are needed, so the examples are exhausted.

If it is said to be a fault, it is not so. Because it is not without examples, and it is not that it is not inference. If asked: How? If it exists, and the invisible realm is seen, then, the names of producing the existent and the non-existent, also from the things that previously existed and were invisible there, because the relation of the sign and the signed that the names of existent and non-existent enter is entered through remembrance. The example is established by direct perception. Following and reversing is that if it exists, it exists, and the nature of the cause and effect other than that does not exist. This is also previously established by direct perception. If what should be seen is not seen, then it does not exist, this world speaks through the power of direct perception. Thus, the reason for the name of non-existence is briefly shown through not seeing. If it exists, it should be able to be contained, because it is not seen, so it does not exist, just as what should be seen in the room was not seen before. For the ignorant such as the Samkhya school, it shows that what should be seen can become the name of non-existence because it is not seen. Even if non-existence is established, it makes what can become a name into a name, for example, promising the producer, even if the father is established, the name of the father is not established because of producing. Just like showing "is the father." If it is not very ignorant, then the name of non-existence is also established merely through the direct perception of what should be seen but is not seen. Therefore, even if it is determined to be non-existent, it is said to the ignorant who contradict the name of non-existence. As it is said: “On the top of the supreme tree, a hundred elephants dwell, Never seen before, yet they exist.” Thus, the Samkhya different from the cow, Who with shame can say this? This is indeed a very ignorant meaning, because it is called a shepherdess. Thus it is said. Similarly, if it exists, and the name is established for the ignorant, if the producer and the non-existent are established, then the examples will be exhausted. For establishing the name, there is no fault, because for the things that enter the name, it is an example, and for the things for which the name is not established by the ignorant, it is through showing the cause. After showing the appearance but not seeing, in order to include the non-appearance but not seeing also as a sign, the cause.
